I know plenty of us have been playing World of Tanks for a long time now, so I figure there is interest for another Tank sim-type PC game here too.

War Thunder started out as a primarily air combat flight sim but has recently released playable tanks in open-BETA. Right now it's just German and Russian, but it's always expanding.

Fair warning, it's not like World of Tanks... this isn't arcade. It's very realistic in tank motion and control, so even driving can be tricky. Aiming and shooting at distances over 500-1500m is common.

yup
been playing it since it went open beta.  i don't really play it regularly though.  the game modes don't fit with the gameplay. though.

the way they have it right now, there isn't enough reward for capturing points, so often the 2 guys who actually care about capping end up on the same side and that side wins, while everyone else kills each other. the games in these cases end quickly.  kind of makes for a less fun game.

i love the handling though.  As a light/medium tanker, i love drifting Very Happy
