I was hoping someone could tell me where to look for miniature two wire plugs (+ & -)

I would like something durable that could be connected and disconnected frequently.

This would be to handle something like an emitter.

Glen,

I think Stince posted this a while ago but I can't find the original post but here is what I have from eBay. I am pretty sure this is the seller from Stince post and where I got mine from.

I got them there too. They work very well...

Thanks

I was looking at something like this as a possibility to IR my HL Jagdpanther, which is airsoft.

I did not want to drill into the mantlet to install an emitter tube and was looking at options to use a removable barrel mount emitter, like I do on my KT.

I thought perhaps the emitter wires could be connected to a small plug hidden in the driver's vision port, to use to plug in a removable, barrel mounted emitter.

Glen, if you just need one set I can spare you one. I actually have my IR emitter installed IN the driver's vision slot on my JP.

I'm curious Glen why you want an external emitter mount over an in hull emitter?

To allow it to track the barrel elevation.

If you are referring to something hull mounted, at a fixed elevation, unless we are finding the need to elevate the emitter is not really necessary.  Then a hull mount would be a lot simpler.

Oops, missed that one when I read Dean's post.  Embarassed

And that works OK?, if it does, that would be the way to go.  I often mess up and find the gun, and emitter, have inadvertently been pointed at the sky, ineffectively.

With the fan pattern of normal emitters being AT LEAST a 20 degree cone, elevation tracking for the emitter is not really necessary in 99% of the firing positions we would have on our field... Not to metion those external emmitters are butt ugly! LOL!

No question there  Wink

This is looking more like the way to go if I get the JP field ready.

Glen, its kinda of like the Leo and the targeting system. In theory you should only be able to shoot at what you can see, and if you can't see where the gunner is or something similar, you probably should not be able to shoot at it. Good enough for me anyway, but of course it won't have as much of a fanning effect as if you mount it on the barrel.

Mike, I was curious as to what you have for gearboxes in that one.

I like the look of these;

http://www.immortalhobbies.com/immortal-store.php#!/Steel-Gearbox-4-to-1-Ratio-long-shaft/p/43020064/category=10646609

But my experience shows they need to be lower than the Mato or Waltersons 3:1 because while they fit the Panther F upper hull, the configuration of the JP's upper hull does not allow enough room for the Mato or Waltersons.

Glen,

Here is couple of pics of my JP. I used the Taigen all metal lower and I think the gearbox came with it I think or I just transplanted my stock HL one. You can also see the location of the IR emitter in the driver's vision slot. It spent the day at Oshawa as a loaner for people to try out and it worked okay as far as I can tell.

Thanks, Mike

Those look like the stock HL's with the zinc cast gears.

I guess if the upgrades don't fit, those a cheap enough, they could be replaced in kind, if or when they wear out.

Here is the fitting question about the upgrades in the link I posted.

The upgrade is in the upper photo, a stock Panther Gearbox is in the bottom, the height and motor configuration are critical to getting gearboxes into the JP, it is tough to tell from the picture of the upgrade if it will fit.  Curtis has offered to let me check this out on Dec. 6th.
