Is it possible to transfer the IR unit from my HL Panther to my HL KV 1? which is airsoft.

Vern, if they are both RX-18 or Taigen Electronics then yes. The MFU for them are equipped to do both. Of course you will have to figure out how to mount the IR receiver (You KV might have a spot for it already) and also a place to put your IR emitter.

Is this permanent or just to try things out ? If it is permanent, then the BB warning LED is a perfect place for the IR emitter as that's what they would do in the factory.

The Ir unit is factory in the panther and supposedly the KV could be set up for Ir. I`m not 100% sure on how to do this, I should have bought the Ir version of KV to begin with. What I will have to do is open them up and check things out and see if it is possible.

If this is permanent then you can just buy an IR conversion kit unless you want to share between the two. I assummed you would want both IR so you can battle each other.

The more difficult part would be if you want the KV to have a recoiling barrel as BB tanks don't come with them.

Lastly, if you want to come out to battle day you will need to upgrade the electronics in which case you migth as well just convert the KV to new electronics than converting it to HL IR and then have to do it again when you want to battle in the club.
