The 3 piece Tranny cover install!

Here is the resin parts I got from YHR ( RCU Forum).

I forgot to take some progress pictures Embarassed, but it mainly involved a lot of sanding and filling to get looking good and smooth. Then I remembered that Tranny cover was cast metal too, so it didn't need to be prefect.

After I was happy with the cover, the next part was to heat it up with a hair dryer, so I could open it up a little more to match the same angle of the original cover.

Next I had to remove a section of the front lip of the bottom hull to fit the new Tranny cover.

Then went over the cover with some Mr. Surfacer 500 for some texture and epoxy the middle strips with the fake bolt on.

I also added a couple of small strips of styrene at the top of the cover and the top part of the hull to close up a small gap.

Here are some pictures of it loosely put together.

This little beast is ready for paint. Very Happy

The nuts should be facing toward the middle, but that's how the parts came. No

I am quite confusing...
What kind of model you want to built? 76? Firefly?
If it is M4A1 76 W. you don't need "Tranny cover".
Firefly? the up hull is not correct.
75m model? the turret is wrong. Question

Strato:
The modification wasn't too hard just messy with all the sanding.

Tim:
Thanks, it has been fun to work on it. I have learn a lot while doing it, maybe after a few more builds like this I might try a build from scratch.

Hulu:
The Tranny cover is result of a battlefield repair. Razz Very Happy
