| Hey guys & Norma On Saturday I picked up a HL PnzIV hull from Curtis, who's original owner had been our own Glen B. I decided at least a couple months ago that a Pnz4 would be my next tank so I jumped on it. Stock, the HL tanks are 'F2' marks, so I decided to try something different and take it to the next production model, a G. Changes REQUIRED : Delete 3 of the 4 frontal turret view ports Add 'applique' armor plates to the lower front hull @ upper front hull (Driver & radio op cover) Ausf G muzzle break. Changes OPTIONAL (G's had parts from Fs, in various configurations) Single piece cupula hatch Turret & Side skirt armor (I will 95% do this!) Turret Smoke launchers Upgrades planned: Taigen 4:1 gears Metal suspension Metal tracks Metal drive & idler. I don't think the weight of metal running gear on this tank will be a major issue, it's a pretty light weight track. Same as the Panzer III. I prefer as much strength as possible close to the ground. | Making room inside the hull. Battery box removed. Lots of room now for battery, Clark board, and speaker. Sanding to remove the turret vision ports the G does not have.. "Applique" armor cut from plexi stock, primed. Primer base coat. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| looks good Please keep the pictures coming, I am interested to see how the new gearboxes fit; it might just inspire me to replace that traded Pz IV There's more historic camo/marking options for the G's than the F2's _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Glen I'll do my best to live up to historical precedent on this build, I have seen several examples of the tri-colour scheme that are close to what I want to do. I'll make it part of that unit. I honestly felt bad sanding off your work I'm painting by hand so hard edge lines work well for me. Fine airbrushing isn't what my hands do... yet _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Bolt-on applique armor finished Pre-shading the turret panel lines and hatches, hinges, etc. Ive used this method on my KV-2 and it turned out nicely, highlights some of the smaller details. I really like this hull, it's going to look great. Tomorrow I'm picking up some more Rustoleum Khaki camo paint for the lower hull, and the brown Tamiya acrylic I need to complete my camo scheme. So far so good. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Picked up some brass strip & tin sheet for schurzen! I hate how hulls look pre-wash and with camera flash... >< Im really happy so far, a coat of Frosted Glass will really bring this together. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Strato didn't mention this but that board is a Panzer IV board. With his Camo I am pretty sure this will be one heck of a build. Keep the pics coming, I am surprised at how fast your moving on this one.

| Thanks Freaky I also picked up a battery & receiver for it today, over @ Hobby Hobby in Mississauga. Nice place, I hadn't been there in several years. Good prices too. I haven't fiddled with any electronics yet, stay tuned. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I've been so busy as it's been my 2 days off this week, hehe. Also I suppose I'm highly motivated and for whatever reason, I woke up at 8am Tuesday with a strong urge to buy paint. Anyhoo, 2 black washes in, I did the entire upper surface & turret, and they're taking very well. I might end up doing 1-2 more washes in black, or grey, but I like where this is going. The darker shades really bring out the pattern details. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I give up on brushing Tamiya acrylics. Even thinned out you get about 3/4" of a brush stroke and it turns into a solid sticky goo. It requires a lot of working, thinning, and re-applying in short strokes to get it right.. more often than not I had to reapply several times, even though it turned out nicely in the end. What a pain in the a$$ though. I switched to regular acrylic for the schurzen, it's almost the same colour _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT
