| Is anyone up for a light hearted skills competition ? I was thinking something along the idea of driving through a course (through town and back maybe) shooting a tank, making hit, then driving back from where started. I have a brand new 1:35 scale DRAGON MODELS PZ IV with the 10.5 cm gun unbuilt model kit I would donate for a prize.
If the course idea is not interesting, let's make up something that is challenging, but something everyone can do. We can time it. The fastest time wins ?
"THE CAN-AM TROPHY" (Which, by the way, is a real life name of a full size tank competition trophy)
Think of it, you will be famous !!!
Your thoughts on the idea ?

| We used to do a time trial last year, that was fun, adding a target to hit would add to the skill challenge of it. The "Fast Draw" challenge seems to be alot of fun, even though Strato keeps winning it. Or we can try something new ..... Hmmm ....maybe " Whack-a-PanTiger"! _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I think these different ideas are good. The only thing with timed events are that some of us with 3:1 gearbox equipped tanks are disadvantaged on speed, but the 3:1's give an edge on control, so I'd give it a try. - Stince wrote:

I also especially look forward to running over the Captain America figure with one of the "Cats" The KT is prefered but a Tiger I or Panther will do. | If there are enough for two classes, (3:1 and standard gear sets) I'm sure I can come up with another prize...
If we have the interest then, I will bring the prize(s) with me.

| What you need to do is set up a course that use all skills, not something based on just speed. Some examples would be steering ( forward and backward ), climbing, shooting IR targets, etc... That way it's more of even play field. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I agree with Stince. Taking speed out of the issue as a means for winning. More about control and accuracy. If we can come up with a mini course with a few targets that should work fine. Here is the prize : _____________________________________________ My Tanks <<== Click hereCan-Am Tank Club <<< Web site linkTiger I | King Tiger | Panther G | PzIII | PzIV | Stug IV | SturmTiger | Pershing/Howitzer | M16 Halftrack | M26 Super Pershing | M48 Patton | M41 Bulldog | Gepard | Leopard | KV-1 | KV-2 |T-34 | |

| I would be glad to take part, my M-26 has 3:1 gears so is slow but climbs and turns well. My M-41 haS standard HL gears and motors w/metal tracks so speed is non existant on either tank.
I need to advise that i will not be able to help set up or tear down. ( picking up the tank and placing it down on the ground may be dicey as well.
In late May / June I pulled / stretched my Achiles Tendon ( Quite painfull) After a month or so it was feeling better and on the mend but at our last battle day I must have re injured it and on the following Sunday I could hardly walk. After a couple of doctor and hospital visits I am trying to take it easy ( unsucessfully).
I am currently north at our cottage and as usual STUFF has to get done.
It will be embarassing to sit and watch you work but some one has to do it.
Pain or not I am anxiously awaiting our meet.

| Thanks so much Glen, much apprecaite the comments. They take several hours to do and post, but it's well worth it. The tanks look great and is a great opportunity to showcase the tanks of the Group.
Keeping mind that when other tank groups check us out, they can see the caliber of tanks we run, which is just awesome.
Keep up the good work on your tanks folks...they'll be famours. Ok, well maybe not famous, but they will be posted on the web for all to see.
Something that hasn't been done in a while, is a group shot with all the tanks side by side. If everyone's game, we can do that on the 25th.
See ya then.

| Noticed this wasnt posted up on RCU so I went ahead and make a thread. I work nights that weekend, but with a LITTLE luck, I will make it! I might get lucky and have a Sherman to play with. Otherwise its the yellow tank death squad on their own _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Thanks Strato!
When you get your Sherman are you going to paint it yellow too? They did have Sherman in North Africa and Italy that where paint in a nice desert tan. It would be different from all the olive green ones, I thought about doing it with mine, but went with the black and green instead. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger
