| I m looking at another tank project, likely beginning in Nov. (not that I am wishing the summer away, I was just getting to like it ) The tank would be converted to IR with an SLU, regardless of the choice. It would also get 3:1 gearboxes. All markings to be stencilled. Option One: Tiger I My plan was to pick up a new Tiger I at the Toronto Hobby Show in Nov. (if Mato is there, if they are, as some of you know, prices are good there). The Tiger would be done up in Abt. 506 colours. (love the emblem on the storage bin) [img][/img] Option Two: Jagdpanther A re-fit of my existing, neglected airsoft JP, converting to IR with all the stuff I listed above. Considerations; - I have not used a turretless tank in IR club battles, it may be frustrating? - As most Can Am people know, my speciality is east front panzers (thought I am not an expert in them); due to the chaotic conditions in January 1945 when JP's were first deployed in the east, there is not much solid historical information on the paint scheme for them; I am not a hard and fast rivit counter but I do like some authenticity. As it is now; I don't know if this one is authentic; IR Conversion concept; I do have to ask myself, which would I most enjoy running over Captain America with at a Can Am meet??? _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| The Jagdpanther would be different option out on the battlefield , just sit back and snipe them as they approach. Remember the SLU's speed reduction is way different then the DBU. With the SLU you have full speed until you lose half of your hit count, which I believe the Jagdpanther is 9 or 10 hits. In my case I usually roll or fall into ditch before I lose have my hits anyway. I would like to make my Jagdpanther battle ready, but at the moment it's being used as a trainer tank for my girls. Trying to recruit them while their still young, before they start chasing boys. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I am currently leaning towards the JP, I have the tank, its different and its not like I don't have some turret tanks I took a look inside the JP this evening, it would be like tossing the SLU in a barn compared to the Panther G. I am thinking of a repaint in this scheme; "Rivetcounter" on RCU says it is actually an accurate, later war JP scheme. .....and, to my knowledge, Captain America hasn't been run over by a JP, yet (Sorry Captain Action, I just can't help myself) _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| New thought, the old "Hunting Panther" doesn't look too bad right now. It is in authentic camo for the Lake Balaton Offensive, 1945 right now. Maybe I'll just fit it out for IR, install 3:1's and do a bit of cosmetic work and call it good _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| It looks good Glen. Have you ever thought of adding stowage to you tanks, for that extra personal touch? _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Stuff to do on the Jagdpanther, there's quite a bit even without a re-paint; Lower Hull- Suspension Spring Upgrade. purchase and install - Switch removal, fill and blend in paint - Make ESC Mount in the interior - Cut away surplus posts and internal feature and smooth out - Cut new opening for the new battery plug - 3:1's, purchase and install - Fit SLU components, purchase, once new shipment arrives Upper Hull- Install on/off switch in the rear superstructure hatch - Make and fit receiver mount in the loaders hatch - Airsoft gun, cut down and strip to fit flash, purchase HL Upgrade Flash - Remove HL antenna mount, fill, bodywork and blend in paint - Make and fit removable emitter system to barrel General - repair any finish damage from the above described stuff - weather a bit more - look at adding "sores" to the back deck as a long term addition. I probably missed a few thingd but that is enough for now _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."
