So I'm going to start a bit of a information post regarding electrical connectors. More so for those that do, or are deciding to modify your electrical connectors to suit your personal tastes. Wanting to change your Tamiya plug to something else? Received an RC that has an unfamiliar connector? Etc.. Etc...
Here we will start off with some of the more common electrical connections used in RC and which end is used for what.
The HXT 4.0 plug is one of the better high current connections possible. However you need to be aware that there is no differentiating Battery/Device applications except by matching colour with the appropriate connection type (pin vs socket). All others only connect one way and have a designated colour order.
JST/Tamiya, and Servo connections are all crimped, the others are soldered.
