| Hey guys, I think that we should create a listing of gearbox replacements for specific vehicles. We will not be getting into number of reductions, nor materials for gears, but specifically Tank brand/Model, Motor Positions, and output shaft lengths. Heng Long:High Motor/Low Motor, 48mm shaft Medium Motor/ Low Motor, 48mm Shaft
- Panzer/Stug III, Panzer IV, Tiger I
High Motor/Low Motor, 58mm shaft
- Panther G, King Tiger, M4 Sherman, M26 Pershing, M41 Bulldog, KV1/KV2, T34/85, Type 99/A, M1 Abrams, Leopard 2A6, Challenger 2, T90
Medium Motor/ Low Motor, 58mm Shaft
- Panther G, Jagdpanther, King Tiger, M4 Sherman, M26 Pershing, M41 Bulldog, KV1/KV2, T34/85, Type 99/A, M1 Abrams, Leopard 2A6, Challenger 2, T90
Taigen:High Motor/Low Motor, 48mm shaft
- Tiger I, Panther A (Pantiger), T-34-85, Sherman, Panzer IV
Medium Motor/ Low Motor, 48mm Shaft
- Tiger I, Panzer/Stug III, KV-1/2, Panzer IV, Tiger I, Panther A (Pantiger), SturmTiger
High Motor/Low Motor, 58mm shaft
- M41 Walker Bulldog, M26 Pershing, King Tiger, JagdTiger
Medium Motor/ Low Motor, 58mm Shaft |

| Let me know about updates and mistakes and I'll correct the original listing I'm sure I've missed some and forgotten others. |

Thanks for the info. I cut and pasted the chart into my data base. |

| Confirmed that Taigen KV1-2 metal chassis use the shorter shaft. If you get 4:1 gearboxes for the KV-1 you must remove the smoker and may have to remove/alter the hull latch mechanism/bracket.

| Hey so I have an Ultimate Edition II metal gearbox as well as the standard Heng Long Black Steel gearbox for the Heng Long King Tiger tank. So, looking at that chart above, either will fit and work with the Heng Long M41 Walker Bulldog Chassis? _____________________________________________ We shape our fate as our fate shapes us

A Tiger I uses the shorter 48mm shafts, whereas the King Tiger uses the same 58mm shafts that the Bulldog uses. |

| Just a small addendum to the thread...
Final drive ratio's of stock gearboxes...
Henglong 3:1 is a 29:1 ratio Taigen 3:1 is a 39:1 ratio Tamiya are 59:1 ratio (For the most part) Mato are 69:1 ratio Taigen 4:1 is a 90:1 ratio
Unsure about Waltersons due to the multiple gear reductions (5:1) and the multiple input pinons... |
