So almost have all the parts to make up the Leopard 2A6M CAN edition...

HL Leopard 2A6 - Check
Metal sprocket/idler - Check
Metal Tracks - Check, but not assembled (Rubber pads)
Clark board for Leo2 - Check
Steel gear motors - Ordered
6+2 Smoke launcher arrays - Ordered
Slat Armour set - Check
Lower Hull Armour upgrade - In discussions!

I will be measuring and copying the slat armour for 3D printing so I can make spare parts.

I'll be watching your progress. I have a A26M planned for a future build using the Tamiya Leo 2.

I have the Slat Armor kit from Tank Modellbau it will be a bit of a challenge as it comes with no instructions. The armor layout is straight forward however the mounting brackets are another matter.

I can safely say that the attachment of the Salt Armor to the tank will not survive even a minor impact without a much sturdier attachment plan.

I too purchased the 6+2 Grenade Launchers and they are very nicely done, IMO.

I purchased the aluminum lower hull reinforcement plate from DKLM for the Tamiya Leo 2 and with a little work will look the part of the Lower Hull Armor I think.

Thanks Michael.

I was pretty sure it was you when I saw the name and that you were in Canada.

I plan on copying and then 3D printing the slat armor in pieces so that I have no issues with it being destroyed....

But yeah, currently doing tests on a HL T34 & Jagdpanther for some assembly/concept work...

Jarlath,

You may already know this, it comes in sections just like the actual armor with the exception of the "offset" side pieces, they have to be assembled. The pieces are laser cut out of styrene sheets making each section solid pieces.

If I could post a pic I could show you. Unfortunately like many others I am a victim of the PB hosting ransom.

I have a set of the 1/16 scale ones from http://www.ludwigs-hobby-seite.de/Leopard%202A6%20Zubehoer.html

As for pics, I use Imgur now.

No need for the picture then, as they are one in the same and you know how they are made in sections.

So are you planning on 3D printing them in larger sections?

I am still undecided on a new photo hosting sight but leaning toward Imgur.

I plan on designing something that is more replaceable and  hopefull has stronger mounts. I bought it to measure and adapt for my 3D printer. So my Rear lower slat armour will likely be a 2 peice affair due to my printer bed width limitations.
