Thanks to Ed we have a lot of new drainage done! We had to let the field get rained on a few times (hard) to see the patterns of flow and were we could adapt and adjust so all our hard work doesn't get swept away so to speak!  Razz

so when I got to the field this morning I got to see Ed and Norma's work this past week. Awesome! Drainage ditches, culverts, bank reinforcement, etc... So today we did some cosmetic work putting more screened fill down in the top right quadrant and doing some adjustments to the drainage flow areas...

And of course once we put the new layer down Ed couldn't resist leaving his mark in the cement!

New bridge reinforcement

And the all new hill of death!!!

We cleaned up all the rocks from screening and as you can see we are making good progress on the clay sub soil over coat!

And thanks so much Ed for the jump start! sorry you had to go to Wally World on Sunday! More work to come this week and we will have a couple of surprises for Saturday. See you all then!

WE put in a good start on the drainage and grading Sat and Sun. Then Sunday evening ( for those not from the area ), we had one heck of a downpour  which really gave the field soaking.
I checked afterward and the  field stood up pretty well with much of the water being redirected.
One area for consideration is the retaining pond , it will need to be about a foot deeper. ( enough to sink a tank ,but then we could make one of those Russian type recovery videos lol)

Anyway,my wheel barrow gives an idea how much rain came down.

Mostly tree planting and some rock gathering  but we might work on a new road to the hill of death affraid too! It's coming along!  cheers

Damned! Waterway is looking fine Dean. Great job guys... Did some rock weirs get added to limit drainage? Aka is the water stagnate or slowly drain into the pond?

I assume you are talking about the T34 being pulled out of the bog recently? No tanks in our bog yet.... But Russell hasn't been to the field... russian

Dean now we just need several hundred scale yard of sandbags & trenches.. get those enlisted men to work! Razz

I really like the field guys, it has tons of potential. Right now the only problem are the damned pebbles but they'll work their way out. I suggest putting a bounty on them and letting kids loose to pick them up..
