So while it has been busy at work from a time perspective... I had a request to try and make a set of 3D printed road heels for an IS-3. Why? Cause the resin version available is garbage IMHO... The initial concept for ease of printing and some strength... Outer road wheel on bottom left. Inner Road Wheel on bottom right, and center spacer at the top middle. Current design uses the original resin center caps. May look at a 3D Printed cap. Two images of the prototype road wheel assembly. The screws are my 10mm hex caps from my recoil units, so I either need longer screws, or double the number and have some from the inner wheel as well. Need to clean up the through holes for the screws and increase bearing diameters and outer road wheel bearing mounting depth to get correct axle placement. Road wheels themselves are a tad thick (0.5mm or so to shave off.) Inner edge of the road wheels are smooth without any detail.

The fully assembled Wheel from the outside. Cap would be attached with CA currently for simplicity, Also easy to replace if print works properly... Outer view, cap not in place. Showing existing pin and bearings reused. I have tweeked the counterbore depths to get some thread engagement into the inner wheel. Inner view showing the designed offset for the pin (same as the metal road wheels, 8.8mm) Again, reused bearing from the original. A section view showing the assembly, note that the outer wheel has very little "meat" behind the bearing. Not very worried as all the axial loads are taken up by the 5 screws that fasten the assembly together... You can see that I did not texture the inner areas of the road wheel where the track guides run. No real point, and adds for ease of printing to have a flat surface

And the final product is pretty much done... And for S&G I sharpied some if it... This re-uses the Taigen axle pin and bearings for the KV-1 chassis. Each wheel set takes about 90 minutes to print....

Well.. FOOK... So went to print 5 sets of IS-3 road wheels last night in a single print. 5-1/2 hour print. Damned thing ran outta filament at 80% completed... SIGH... So I have 5 spacers and caps extra so far... My slicer said I needed 24.5 Meters of filament... Guess I was short by 3-5m...

Chris. I have your set of road wheels complete and ready. Are you wanting to buy the screws yourself? Or want me to include all 70?
