I agree with that! Cool

Historically, the KV-2 would have track issues. It was way underpowered for its weight. So its just be authentic. Wink

But did you get any pictures of it in the snow?

I mentioned hl track problem half year ago. It can not fit forasiatam metal sprockets . My solution is using tamiya kv1 tracks. It is well made and cheaper than asiatam metal tracks.
Close pin is some kind of piain when you try to install and uninstall it.

No pictures, I was busy shivering at the time hehe.

I remember Hulu, I modified the sprockets with a grinder to get them to fit better, it SORT of worked... just not as well as I planned.

I got my shipment from Welsh today, right on time. An Asiatam opening drivers hatch, metal tracks and a volume control! Razz

With the tracks on, it now tips the scale at 13-1/2 pounds. Thats about as much as my Tiger with metal tracks... We'll see how these 'taigen' 4:1 gearbox's handle it.

IR emitter installed, I just havent worked on the sensor yet. I neither have one or the cables for it at all, so, no rush yet.

Shaky-cam demonstrating the IR LED firing while taking a picture at the same time.. this was the least blurry I could do lol!

I like them, they have a very solid and tough feel and big bearings on the final drive. Take moves along nicely with the metal tracks on a smooth surface, sort of quick.. Not sure what size motors come with them!

"Finished!" (although that's never true.. )

Special notes for rctank.de and Welsh Models for providing excellent support & customer service for all my random questions and many parts Very Happy

Weighs 13-1/2 pounds altogether and turns really well.

I mentioned earlier I refinished my KV-2.. just a little bit, added some wear, battle damage, and I tried to simulate what several Molotov cocktail attacks would look like, as it seems in the winter of 41-42 would be a very likely attack on a KV-2

That's pretty neat effect, now you have to tell us how you did it.

I'm guessing you either torch it a bit or spray thinner?

Thinner AND a hobby torch, works wonders. I still feel like the colour is spread out too uniformly, but I'm happy where it is now Very Happy

Added the fan Stinger gave me, so thanks again!

hopefully this alleviates the very odd and one-time 'ghost turret' issue I had last meet...

If you can manage it, I think the fan will be more effective if it blowing down on the board rather than across it which won't provide near the same cooling effect. Just my thoughts.

I agree with Stinger, blowing down is best because then it gets all of the fets and board, If it has to blow across it try to get the air to go between all of the fets. The way it is now basicly the first 2 get the air and the rest really don't get much.
