I would be interested to buy several to use as battle damaged unites for the field.

Lipos don't start fires, people do...
ALWAYS when charging do it in a fireproof container!

Well I had been talking to Christian about his vehicles (or what was left of them).
At the time he had an Elephant, a VK, and a JP that were the least damaged in the fire... I had talked to him regarding those to be relocated to a good home here at the KW field and he offered them at shipping cost. Unfortunately I must have taken too long to respond...
The Elephant has been taken by someone else already... The VK is getting rebuilt by Christian. So a JP is avail (plus a bent Opal Blitz, and a hull of a Kanonenjagdpanzer).

If I was not scared of LIPO's before I should be now.

Scared of Lipos? No. Cautious? Yes.
Ludwig's fire was caused during an unattended charging of Lipo Batteries. AKA, nobody home....
I actually have a BATSAFE for home charging, but otherwise charge my batteries outside (At an event, or while I am present).

After watching the video it would appear that nothing we have around the house woud stop the reaction taking place.
No I do not use Lipo's but have thought about.
I will stick with Nmh for now.

Those tests are extreme but accurate. It takes only a little more effort but the benefits of the lipo is huge. To each his own. The biggest I have is a couple of 3 cells. They are in their own ammo can.

And in each of those tests it states that they are overcharging the cell of a Lipo. (In the tests all of those Lipos were NOT balance charged BTW. They were purposely connected as a NiMH style connection).
So, use a good charger, stay present while charging...
