| I hope Hurricane Sandy does effect us too much. It predicted to hit south eastern Ontario. I would to try to make it to this one. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| I'm watching the progress of the storm. The news media likes to hype these things up with catchy names, etc., it could have an impact here in SW Ont. or it may not. It is way too early to make any predictions about the effect it may have on the field. They really can't predict where it will go in the next 2 to 3 days but if it comes this way, it will be a rain event and if that happens, we'll make a call on it later in this up-coming week. Here is one hurricane tracking site; http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| With all the rain we're all getting hopefully the field drys in time for Saturday.

I have some concerns about that. We have had rain every day since last Sat. and there has been almost 2" of rain in the last 24 hours, by my rain gage. The forecast has rain for at least part of the day for Wed. through Fri. Not trying to be negative but it is very wet without any projected "drying" weather. I will keep watching the weather and update as we go. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Its not looking good. More Rain today and tomorrow. I don't think I'll be able to get the field mowed. |

| We have received 3/8"of rain here just since this morning, this is on top of what has fallen every day since last Sat.
I very much doubt the field will be dry enough to cut of Friday (tomorrow) or dry out enough to use on the 3rd.
I expect to be posting something conclusive on the status, this evening. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| FINAL
We will postpone the Nov. Meet to Sat Nov. 10th due to the volume of rain we received this week.
Please think "happy thoughts" about drying conditions for the Nov. 10th Meet. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Dissapointing but the right call.
Perhaps I should convert my Sherman to a Donald Duck tank for these wet days . |

| I did think about the DD tanks
I am only a few miles from the field, my yard is has similar soil etc. and it is quite "squishy"
It would not have been a good experience, especially for those who travel some distance to get there.
Hopefully we get better conditions through next week. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Well, the sun finally appeared. My yard is still quite well, I found a somewhat dry spot to run Panther 435 for a few checks but that was about it. When I went into town this morning, some yards still have a bit of standing water. If we can get some dry weather through the next week, we should be able to get the field ready for the Nov. 10th meet _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I think Tim's gear puller may have a curse on it. Every time I try to get down there to return it to him the Battledays get cancelled. But the one time I can't go you guys had good weather. I think I'm going to have to mail it to him to break the curse! _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Why does ever Battleday that gets cancelled, I always end up doing yard work! I ended up raking leaves, cutting grass, cleaning gutters, fixing eavestroughs, hang Christmas lights on the house (No, I didn't turn them on), changed the lights in the garage and took out the garbage. On the plus side, the wife made an excellent roast chicken for dinner! _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Well this year kind of fizzled out. But in reflection the year has been a good one.
It is snowing in Fort Erie today, so if the 10th is a no go, its no great loss. We did have a great year. |
