Hi all,

Looking to purchase two HL tanks from Matomart that are IR battle-ready out of the box.  How can I tell if any particular model/configuration is applicable?  I'm not knowledgeable enough to do any of upgrades on my own right now. Just want to be that cool dad who bought RC tanks for his kids to battle in the basement Christmas morning.   

Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Maybe I can take advantage of their Black Friday sales.

When you are looking at a tank on Matomart and you want them to be able to combat each other, make sure you look for those tanks that have the "IR" label in the description.

Example: "Newest Henglong 1:16 M4A3 Sherman RC Tank with Steel Gearbox IR and Airsoft Special Version" or "Newest Henglong 1:16 Panzer III R/C Tank Steel Gearbox IR and Airsoft"

I would also try and make sure that the tanks are the same control versions to ensure 100% IR battle compatibility.

The Airsoft side of the tanks will break the plastic bits and piece off another tank if you forget to remove the airsoft BB's.

Now I will give you a bit of advanced warning.
After some time, the idler mounts will crack, and you will start throwing tracks.

This is just a design weakness of all plastic hull tanks. 
Track tension continually stresses the idlers. And it will happen at some point. 

The harder you drive these tanks on terrain that has turning resistance (aka grass). the larger the forces experienced by the idler mount. 

If your tank suddenly starts turning in one direction, you likely have a jammed track. Do NOT try and power through it. You break tracks that way.

Does anyone know the voltage of the "machine gun" led's of the heng long and mato tanks using a Clark TK22 board ?

i have a few 6V led's i can try and see if they work. if not the voltage must be lower or higher.. if all i get is a flash.
hard to measure voltages on a DVM when the input is onoffonoffonoffon in rapid succession.
