Screen shot of Ryan from Spyker standing on the stiffening brackets.
And here just for fun, the final drive and the sprocket and one of the bogie next to my Sherman Calliope.

Looks like we are going to have to expand the field. Tamiya kit boxes are huge, I can't imagine the box that monster came in. BBQ shipping box perhaps?

Hey MikeC,
Does your vehicle have a trailer hitch?

This one is pre built so parts are in a old vacuum box and upper and lower are by themselves. When Dean and I saw it new it was in a box probably the size of BBQ like you said, maybe something like 4 Tamiya boxes stacks together. Just the usual large scale stuff the box art is a 8x11 stuck to the large carboard box.
This thing fits in my trunk even without the seats down so it should be good. I am using the original tracks so it is not going over anything that is not super smooth. I also need to make sure it is in top shape before selling it.

Well thanks to a fellow 1/6 tanker on Facebook group, he sent me his spare 76mm barrel and mantlet for free and even paid for shipping and asked me to pay it forward. Unbelievable kindness from a fellow tanker. Arrived today and here is the largest recoil I have ever work on.......... Spyker recoil smooth as silk.

Cool. Everything about those big tanks looks impressive compared to our "tiny" 1/16 tanks. Funny how people I show my tanks to think the 1/16 ones are really big. Seeing a 1/6 or bigger would be quite the eye opener

More updates. Scale comparison with my M4A3E8. Rear idlers adjustment kit, and front engine belt drive. Cutting the shaft on those wiper motors are a bitch but it is all done now. Just need some spade connectors from Amazon today to fire these babies up and see how they run without load. Not that there is that much load as the whole thing is like a plastic box essentially.

What size gun is on the 1/16th? The barrel almost looks as long as the 1/6

76mm. The one on the 1/6 is 75mm short barrel.

Mike, just so you know; the stock tracks are so fragile that they can break when just holding up a length of them by one end. The tiny nubs that the end connectors fit over are really weak. Before Ryan came out with his replacement tracks, (which I would absolutely vote for buying, just for the worry-free aspect of them), I spent a lot of effort beefing up my stock set. I glued styrene pieces into the track pads to strengthen them; cut 3mm stainless rod to length to pass through holes drilled into the pads; and super glued the end connectors to the rod ends. They are now very strong, but also very heavy. Had Spyker offered them at the time; I certainly would have gotten a set of his. Oh yeah, I also bought a spray can of that black rubberized coating and sprayed the track pads with that before assembling them.

Thanks sassgrunt........ I didn't think you visit this forum. I only remember seeing you at the UK one.
This one is not for keeps. I am hoping to sell it by the summer. I will see how strong the stock tracks are. Not really going to run it hard. I order basically everything Ryan has but the tracks and the working suspension precisely because this is not a keeper. Just to show enough to make some one interested.
I had thought about the rubberized spray as well as I am starting to think about how I am going to paint this sucker. I am leaning towards getting it painted by an autoshop........ The scale is just not I am used to. I did find some flat metal colour at our local hardware store so that might be the one for the tracks. I can't afford Tamiya spray bomb for this tank.
