I wonder if the upgraded spur gear I used is causing a problem. I think as soon as I get a chance I try the stock one.

Yea, sounds like a good plan. Isolate each component group and try them 1 by 1, you probably only have a single stuck differential... if not the spur gear.

would sliding a gasket in-between the tranny covers help? maybe you just need a few thou to get the clearence

Hey here's a plan find a old bruiser kit and use the grant and diffs out of it ....they steel and tough I had one when I was little my dad helped me build it .....I beat the hell out of it ....sadly not knowing I got rid of it at a garage sale that my mom had at here house
