Here's a few from the book "Tiger I on the Eastern Front", these should be pretty historically accurate.

Abt 502

White Tiger's White Tiger Winter10

Abt 503

White Tiger's White Tiger Winter11

Abt 505 (there is a painting stencil available for the interesting unit emblem on the turret0

I like Option one! What colors would i need tamiya wise? I am thinking these paints might do it?

Base:XF-63 German Gray
Mask off Camo Pattern (some stripes?)
Spray: TS27 Matt White
Wash: Light Brown or Watered down black
Wheels:Grey with white\rust weathering?
Tracks: matt Black of some sort????
Seal:Clear Flatt?

Also i am going to need a commander with an officers cap & To pick my own tank number.... 88 (year i was born) i was told might be an offensive number for some reason o.O so perhaps i should go with 117 (Since i screwed up my WoT account name due to miss reading carious tank number)

For tracks, I mix a bunch of flat black XF-1, Hull Red XF-9 and a hint of Metallic Grey XF until it looks right; not to scientific Embarassed

Dry brush the high spots with XF-56 and spray with several coats of Rustoleum Frosted Glass (clear).

We need to get Stince and Airbrusher in on this, oddly, I am a bit more "seat of the pants"on this, they might be better at explaining the methodology.

No rush, i have to strip my test models first anyhow -_- and i just noticed my jerk of an older brother used up 2 jugs of simple green i bought for when i do commission painting for people that required a model stripping.

Also is it cheaper to order tamiya paints online anywhere? Locally the guy marks things up from to $8 bucks for a small pot because he thinks no one notices -_-

Why worry about number 88 being offensive, while you have a Nazi officer as your profile picture?

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

we pay too much for things in Canada.

I buy 23 ml containers of Tamiya acrylic just across the border (for me) in Niagara Falls NY for just over $2.00, about what the local shop in Canada sells the 10 ml for.

Then they wonder why we go to the U.S. or buy on line; I would like to support the locals, but we are getting hosed, here.

Sounds like a good plan, I don't mind paying my fair share, but it sounds like your local guy wants you to pay someone else's share, too Shocked

i don't use any Tamiya paints they are all acrylic dollar store paints and i usually airbrush but they could be drybrushed on i use a tan colour mix a bit of black and brown just to dirty it up a little on the edge i mix a bit of orange with brown or maroon to mix a rust colour and i brush it on the edges of the tracks and then go in with a bit of silver

i'll have to try and get a close up later

Well small problem lads.......My airbrush kinda sucks for anything but basecoating so any suggestions on how the bloody hell i should do a winter white wash? The tank is already in this scheme anyone got suggestions? As things sit i might try to just mist 80\20 thinner & paint over it to to give a snow covered look......

You don't need an airbrush to do a white wash, just brush.

When the Germans applied in the field, it was with a mop and rags. It was also meant to come off in the spring, so it was general slopped on.

(Any suggestions on how to make the wash? This Mig stuff smells terrible and seems to do nothing)
