| We began some work on the field last week, re-shaping some hills to make them more interesting for tank operations and easier to maintain.
Today, Ian did an extensive amount of work.
This includes finishing the creek bottoms off with pea stone and shifting 1,000 pounds of soil to finish off the existing terrain and create some new elevated areas. Some of the hills on the south side were moved to improve tank operation.
I would like to thank Ian for his efforts on a hot, humid day; I am sure he will be hurting tomorrow from it.
The cost, so far tallies up to: $90.97 (receipts available), from Ian's report;
2,000 lbs of stone at : $58.76 1,000 lbs of topsoil at: $32.31 8 hours of labour : free (9am-5pm) Use of father-inlaws pick up truck : free I pictched in the gas for the truck.
Taxes are included.
At the earliest opportunity, I plan to spread about $40.00 worth of grass seed on the new areas.
I am looking forward to the next meet on an improved field. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| That's great guys, I can't wait to see the changes! Did you accomplish the goal of making more of the hills & terrain mow-able? _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Yes, Ian said that it should be easier to mow which make field prep easier and we should be able to do a better job in less time as far as getting the grass cut.
For general interest; we need to keep it in grass because the Black Creek Centre prefers we would have grass as opposed to bare soil. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| That's a good thing in any case, the grass keeps us bound to more scale-like maneuvers and tactics. Again thanks to you guys for your efforts and initiative _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I hope to plant the seed today, weather permitting. If I do, I will get some pictures. It is soggy, here, my fancy electronic rain gauge indicates we got 2.90 inches of rain between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM this morning _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Grass seed is down, Scott s Coated variety, well raked into the VERY wet soil.
Seed Cost $33.89
The 3 inches of rain last night did not wash the work away.
VERY NICE JOB, Stinger!!!!!! _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

Stinger did a good job In those pictures, the rest of the grass needed cutting, we had just received 3" of rain and I had just seeded the new areas, so it should improve once it dries up and we can cut the existing grass. I used that Scott's coated seed on the new soil, so I am hoping for some grass growth on the new spots, but in just under 2 weeks, that may be over optomistic. IMHO, the modifications should make running tanks on the field more interesting, there are some new or modified features that can be driven over, or on to or hidden behind. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| As you know, this is a club full of volunteers and everything done is done for the good of the club. If there is any assistance needed, it comes on battle days. The setting up of tables and buildings seems to be our current need. If everyone can pitch in there before we start with the socializing (which we all like to do) that would be a tremendous help. Of course, your Tim Bits don't hurt one bit either Ed...lol Stinger _____________________________________________ My Tanks <<== Click hereCan-Am Tank Club <<< Web site linkTiger I | King Tiger | Panther G | PzIII | PzIV | Stug IV | SturmTiger | Pershing/Howitzer | M16 Halftrack | M26 Super Pershing | M48 Patton | M41 Bulldog | Gepard | Leopard | KV-1 | KV-2 |T-34 | |

Yes, I fully agree. Since I live so close, I will be there at the next meet by 8:30 to open up the building and trailer, get the BBQ out and get the buildings out by the field, so we get a "leg up" on set up as soon as the others arrive. I hope this gives everyone more time on the field than if we wait until 9:30 to open things up. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."
