Yes the button was red and yes the date was wrong, Im talking about the October 26 battle day not being posted  this week and showing green untill the forcast was shown to be bad then change the colour.cheers

I have to look at the Oct 19 post to find out about the Oct 26 Battle day ?? scratch

Time for a new post with a new date to keep it clear for all  .. Aye Aye if people have to dig for the date they will get it wrong or not show up and miss the fun . just saying ..

If the button is Red, then the battle date is called off. The button was and is Red. The dates are not wrong. The date that is registered as the battle date is the one that is cancelled. It stays red until we have another confirmed date that we can look at as a possibility. Right now, the dates and weather are so far off, it will not even go to Yellow until we get a possibility. That's how it works.

It is currently Red as we have no possibility of a new date, at this point.

We are however looking into other options. These too will be posted when we know something.

Digging is not required if you follow this guideline.

In addition, here is what is going on with trying to select a date for a meet.

I cannot cut the field in an evening, now, because it gets dark early.

So, I need to take the day off on the Friday, before a meet to get things ready in daylight.

If I take a vacation day, I would like some assurance with the forecast that the conditions will be good enough to prep the field, and hold the meet the next day; if not, then I have wasted a vacation day.

So far, we have not had stable enough weather to make that call, we hope this weather pattern will change but it is fall, so all bets are off.

We are looking at another option, schedule an indoor event at the Black Creek Centre for later in Nov., if the weather is bad, we can at least have some sort of event, if it happens to be good, we can go outdoors.  This is not a "done deal", I just sent an email to Mike, to see if the hall is even available on a Sat. in Nov..  It may, or not be; I hope to know in a couple days.

This fall's weather has been a challenge, compared to the good luck we have had in previous seasons, and based on forecasts, we are reluctantly cancelling the Oct. 19th Meet.

The plan is to watch the forecasts and try for at least one "last hurrah" for 2013 in the first week following the weekend of Oct 19/20th that we have a decent forecast.

Please watch the website and forum for announcements.

Potential dates could be the weekends of either Oct. 26th or November 2nd.

We will provide as much notice as possible.
And so there we were Oct 19 th ,9:45 am , flying over Niagara  on our way to Cancun looking down thinking of you guys having a fun battle day . Norma  had brought along " the Battle of the Bulge " by steven Zaloga for me . It helped but not the same as being on the field .
Sorry it did not work out for you guys due to weather. Not to worry there will be another day.
PS: Hula would have fit right in on the beach , sun burn and all  grin
