| I have both tanks and really there is very little difference from a straight out of the box look. The HL is higher but within reason and that was done to cover the gearbox inside. It doesn't appear able to take other gearboxes but I will look into that later when I have more time. The smoker unit is wedged inbetween the motors which is a good spot for it as this tank would look good with smokers that work. All in All a pretty decent tank and I do think the HL version has a slight advantage in the mold department as this little guy actually is quite detailed. The WSN has the proper look though so this is 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. |

| On first glance the comparison can go a lttle further in the definition of the model. The HL is a model 1943 turret. The WSN is a flattened model 1944 turret. This allows you to do 2 different time periods. Which means on the HL the gun mantle is wrong but I think it could be changed pretty easy. _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." | I noticed that the smoker is not attached to the upper hull like the Taigen KV-1s....... How are you suppose to connect them after pulling the top off ? Also I believe the HL one has painted rubber road boggies and the WSN one is actual rubber.
The biggest difference in mind is the material. WSN RC version turret is softer translucent plastic painted over and HL is your usual injection molded.

| Dean what are the major turret differences? I don't see a HECK of a lot between the two... *opens can of worms* Curtis do you mean other BRANDS of gearboxes? I would want to put the steel HL regular ratios in there. Anyway, looks sexy. Nice work on the body paint & weathering on the tracks. I think that angle split on the side of the turret is part of what Dean's talking about. The WSN one is a late/post WWII production with the angle weld line, and the HL one is WWII I believe. I think the HL one should have the early road boggies as well as the cut-out boggies wasn't really used in WWII either. |
