| Hey guys, happy winter! I just wanted to see what the club thinks of some of the new stuff that's popping up from the guys at Imex, Torro and whatever fun new stuff has come out with recently. "New" models (that is, either newly marketed or new combinations of parts) from Imex who are showing some promise.. New IMEX stuff, RCU...to the Leo 2 tracks from Mato that look amazing..! Chime in with any other news you know of, I'm far from a hobby encyclopedia but I'm working on it! _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Well Imex releasing the Torro product is good, I already have 3 King Tigers on order plus some other stuff that is coming out. I am finding though that you need to be careful with Imex parts as they are all not a direct fit into HL product so keep that in mind. How about this though 3 to 1 steel gear gearbox, Stainless drive shaft, usual gear oil, pinion puller, extra pinions BUT here is the kicker Each gear shaft sits on a steel shaft WITH BEARINGS? Now that will be sweet and will be available at the end of January, The release will include gearboxes for the new HL T-34. Imagine how quiet they will be with no bushings grinding, a bonus will be the power transfer as well. The will be a lot more effiecent. I'll get some pics of the gearboxes up shortly I always can't seem to get the pics to work so please just hit the link. Only 2 gearboxes are sitting there. https://s1295.photobucket.com/user/ImmortalHobbies/library/?view=recent&page=1 |

| Well I can tell you guys from experience mayo tracks and the new hl Sherman ...well.....they require some major mods to the finals for fitting the drive sprockets ask Curtis ....I almost lost my mind machining and fitting the parts not to mention getting the correct track tension with the limited space to devise a track tentioner but I did it |

| Just to clarify Doug was the first to get a Sherman and retro fitted a set of Mato Sherman tracks to an HL Sherman.
Mato has since released 2 types of tracks specificly for the HL Sherman. |

| I have done that Mod as well. I drilled out the slotted Mato sprockets to fit on the HL gear box output shaft, and then ran a set screw through the wheel hub into the axle. Works good. I did this before Mato had their metal tracks out. Figures, not long after doing this the announce the T 74 track.
The Mato T 74 tracks for this tank would be the way I would go now. |

| Thanks bud for the clarification ...as mentioned I have the first hl Sherman ..this Sherman was fitted with what I would call first gen waltersons gear boxes in other words brass out put shafts .. I did not in any way shape or form modified the drive cogs for the simple reason there was in my eyes very little material in the drives as it is I did not want to weaken them in any way thus percision machining the drive output shafts and I took it a step furthur I under sized the shafts and used shim stock on them only on the flats of the shafts used stainless steel shim stock the fact is I did it it took some measuring and a lil brain power but I did it and the tracks look killer on it |
