| I started off with a long interest in history and my background is in mechanical engineering but I came into the hobby with 0 knowledge of electronics (still working on that), never airbrushed until 2010 and no soldering ability. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I have learnt that you better bring 4 tanks so at least one of them will work all day! _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov

| Bwahaha, right on Dean!
For me I've really developed my own set of skills for painting and weathering in a completely not-professional environment for it, so I do enjoy that. I really sometimes am proud of what my hands, some old brushes and a can of lacquer thinner can do. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| i didn't get into this hobby until i painted Stince's PIII and about a year even after that is when i got my Pershing i painted that thing five times before it looked right i wasn't use to painting tanks just model cars, i have been airbrushing for 27 years now but like i said it was cars and motorcycle tanks and helmets plus goalie masks so this hobby taught me about weathering and of course wiring and electronics i have Heng Longs so it kind of comes with the tank...lol _____________________________________________ |

| This hobby continues to teach me about people more than anything else. I mean yes I have learned some facets about building, painting and weathering. My skill will continue to develop in those areas but The biggest learning cycle has been about people, Maybe owning the store is the difference as I talk to people from around the world. People in this hobby have surprised me though, Good/Bad and more than enough indifference to it all, Just when I figure I got a handle on it some person will blow that out of the water. example and this is a true story from a person in Canada Guy plunks down a lot of cash for 2 all metal Tigers, turns around and gives one away to a friend down the street from him. Why I asked that cost you a bundle, Guy says Oh my neighbor is dying of cancer, I wanted to see him smile and giggle one more time. That my friends is a life lesson and one I see alot more than you would think. |
