I wanted to check with the Pershing owners in the club to see what they are using for motors and gearboxes.

I am wondering if the HL Pershing, with stock running gear and plastic tracks needs. or will significantly benefit with other motors or gearboxes.

I find that I prefer the Tiger I's with 3:1's but am not sure how the stock Pershings run in comparison, due to their sprocket size differing from the Tiger's.

Glen, I don't have a Pershing myself, but I have read on other forums that because of the drive sprocket being a different size that you get more torque out of the stock gearboxes. They supposedly act like 3:1's.

Happened to find this on RC Tankwars

Bulldog / M-26 / KV- 1 Steel Gearbox & 480 Motors

HL Steel Gearboxs with the 480 motors, that drops right into our Bulldog, Pershing or KV-1. This setup is the standard gearing combine this with the smooth strong steel gears and 480 motors should make for excellent speed, power & torque. You will increase your top end speed and add the torque with the Promax 480s without the need for gearing down.

It is one of the higher cost units, at $105.00 but is sounds like a high quality product.
