| " /> If this picture works, I need am metal tube ( 6 mm OD x 5 mm ID x 32 mm abt. long) with a longitudinal rectangular slot with two drilled ear tabs for the exterior sleeve on a shock absorber. It was mangled in the bag. I can buy the whole bag for over $70.00 from the museum or $30.00 on Ebay, but if any one has one it would be nice not to waste $ on a bag of 50 parts for one piece. I also have sent an E mail to the manufacturer but I am sure 6 weeks will pass before I see any thing. Anything out there ?? Wayne |

Cheers Ken Ken: Thanks very much. I believe you are farther down the road then most of our CanAm members. If my observations are correct you are " Down Under" I do not say much on our site but try to read everything. I would like to wait a couple of days and see if any one local has one, I tried RCU without any success except for the suggestion of making one from tubing or straw. I was about to get some, brass, plastic or aluminium metric or Imperial tubing tomorrow and give it a shot. I also sent a request to Tamiya through Banzai explaining the problem. ( If successful I expect it will take 4-6 weeks) and I do not like that, I do not like being forced do do things out of my logical order. ( Not that I know what I am doing) I will get back to you in a day or two. Thank You Wayne |

Cheers Ken Ken: I tried some plastic tube and it was too tight and brittle. I would appreciate it if you could send me one piece MS4 "( 6 mm OD ), the larger diameter of the two pieces that make up the shock absorber. Sent PM Thank You Wayne

Cheers Ken I don't usually try to be the same as any particular example, but are you referring to the single cover door being split into two ? If you are .maybe. I notice some examples show two doors with or without the water dam bar around the opening. ??? Which to use. " /> " /> Wayne |

| Yeah I believe they had 5 different engine decks of the course of there production.... I am keeping the welded hull and just molding the engine deck I also have to make the stowage boxes and gun travel lock as schumo does produce them anymore but I have found resin jerry cans that are the same as what they used... |

| Yeah thats for the 105mm sherman.. you could mod it to resemble the M51 but it might be easier to scratch build it. Just depends how accurate you want to be, I won't be going silly with it my skill level isn't good enough for that but I will fix and make a couple of the more obvious and easy bits.. |

Ken: I have received the shock absorber sleeve and installed it, THANK YOU SO MUCH !! It arrived last Monday but I was not home so it went to the Post Office and we were on our way North to our cottage for the week and I had to wait until today to get it The M-51 is done except for dirt, mud and rust plus the wiring hook up. I will send a picture when it is closer to being finished. Wayne |
