Just wondering what battery conectores everyone uses? Tamiya, deans or what have you. Does the club try to get everyone to use the same or is it all personal preference?

Your own preference. I use Tamiya, some guys use deans...

If I have to do it all over again, I would pick out my battery first from HobbyKing and see what it comes with and go with that. However, since Heng Long uses large Tamiya plug, there is always parts for it.

I am on large Tamiya, and have just about every connector converter from HobbyKing (Deans, HXT 4mm, XT-60 etc etc to Tamiya).

I stick with Tamiya because that's what's on the batteries I order & what tanks are set up with default. It's easy to get and even a parts-donor HL tank has that power switch ready to go!

Jordan, do you use lipo or big butt NiMHs ? The only reason I bought all these bloody converters is because the lipos I get from HobbyKing never have Tamiya connectors....... Even JST, but not Tamiyas. With the converter it makes the whole battery thing quite a cable full in the hull.

Yea I stick with 5000mAh NiMH, I like to keep it simple for the most part. Every % drop in chance of explosion is worth it Wink
