| I use styrene tube.
Made by Evergreen Scale Models
Item 228
1/4"tube
.250"Dia.
The emitter fits right in. The 9mm refers to the distance you should have from the end of the emitter to the end of the tube. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I use a McDonalds straw believe it or not. It fits perfectly over and it is a little bit flexible in case something brushes against it... Plus I am cheap! LOL! _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov

| Actually funny thing, that is what happened. I was sitting at my work table with the drink and thought hmm.... and it worked! I paint the outside black but leave the inside for reflection to focus the beam... _____________________________________________ "There are things in Russia which are not as they seem..." | i wouldn't recommend anything shiny in the tube. the reason the emitter sits 9mm from the end of the tube is to reduce the IR spread. in my mind putting anything reflective in the tube could turn it into a fire hose with the nozzle cut off at full pressure.
with my tanks i tend to made the tube longer in hope to make it more accurate _____________________________________________ I do things in the name of science but first hold my beer

| Clark board has been hit and miss (no pun intended) with the IR, I wouldn't put any tubing on until you tested it and only if it is going tactical nuke everytime you fire and melts everything within a 5 foot circle.

| IR light reflects less intensely than visible light, and the light that does reflect will lose most of the encoded data on it's wavelength that signals cannon and machine gun signals anyway. The IR bulb TIP should be 9-10mm from the outside of your tube, in any case. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT
