Batteries, Good Source? Empty
PostSubject: Batteries, Good Source?   Batteries, Good Source? Icon_minitimeFri Sep 30, 2016 9:18 pm

I was wondering where everyone is getting their batteries these days.

The last tank batteries I bought were in 2012, Onyx 3000 mAh NiMH from Hobby Hobby in Mississauga; http://hobbyhobby.com/store/

Also bought a 5000 back then.

They have done very well but one of the 3000's will not take or hold a charge, now.

I actually just grabbed a quartet of those Venom 4600's off of Amazon. Not tooo overly expensive for warrantied batteries... The multi-pin type connections is nice too.

Thanks, I guess they look like this;

https://www.amazon.ca/Venom-4600mAh-6-Cell-Battery-Universal/dp/B000I6K7G8

Do you know if they fit in a stock, unaltered Heng Long tank Battery box? (some types don't, just a fraction of an inch too big)

I've ordered a couple of these last year, they're holding up Smile

Of course if you really hunt around you can find better NiMH deals, they're all so expensive now.

Batteries, Good Source? Pa020311
Jammed into the Jadgpanther

Batteries, Good Source? Pa020313
Side by side with the 2000 HL Ni-Cd.

Batteries, Good Source? Pa020310

The venom 4600 is slightly longer and while the battery cables are thicker, they are super soft and flexible.

Thanks

Battery size is not an issue with my two Taigen Tiger 1's, but is is with the rest of the "fleet" which is all HL.

You can enlarge the battery wire hole on the henglongs then have your plug inside your hull then just lift off upper hull to unplug or charge it without wrestling with the battery, plug and cover, it works good for me , the room just isn't there for a heavy gauge wire and connector
