Sold couple of my tanks recently so decided to order this one from rctank.de and just arrived today. Will definitely RC it, might look at mating with some kind of Heng Long lower so that there is full working suspension and proper running chassis. Worst case it will still be a runner, just more delicate one like my Maus......

Looked into it. They are asking twice as much, and from what I hear, it is make to order and it is not 100% reliable track records. I don't need it in metal. Have some ideas on how to make it RC and order parts for it already.

Quick update........ After much measuring and actually buying two lower (Chally and ZTZ from Aliexpress) it will be the Chally that is the lower surrogate. Basically skinned it and frankenstein it onto the resin lower. Next step is mounting the idlers and also sprockets with gearboxes, either low profile Heng Long's or PDSGB which happens to be quite slim.

Heng Long low porfile or PDSGB...... Might mount the Heng longs ones for now, since will need custom shafts from Carson for this particular application I believe........

Successful test run on the lower and dry fitting the upper today. Temporary idler will have to mod a Pz III one from Stince as I destroyed the stock resin one while trying to make it operational. Next up is fitting upper to the lower, and then onto the turret and barrel.

It lives ! Lower chassis now fully functional and to my liking. Working on turret mechanics and will start on the actual kit itself (i.e. details) shortly. At the meantime, have to go get a PE bender.......

Was going to let Dean paint my two IDE tankers but couldn't resists to quickly paint them and post them with the almost complete tank. Lower is done, side skirts hung, IR emitter into the targeting box, now onto the really crazy PE stuff. Thinking of skipping the balls and chains.

Not a big fan of elevation in general, and the kit does not have any provision for it whatsoever unfortunately.
It is Tamiya emitter in the targeting housing. For moderns you can always stick the IR into the targeting system housing. Did that for every single one of my moderns. Makes it nice and clean.
Now only if I can figure out where the exhaust is, I might put a smoker in there. I believe it is the fins on the right side which would make smoker output quite difficult unless I make a manifold of some sort and put holes in every single fin box.......
