| Hey guys, I bought a poorly maintained Taigen Tiger 1.
Turret would grind when turning and not go further than 90degress without some manual assistance, smoker didn't work and gears were skipping when going up a slight incline.
Changed the turret motor and gear, it works great now. Changed the smoker to the Taigen v2, pumps out great smoke. Changed out the gears and motors to the new 4:1 and lots of torgue. Thing spins (at least one direction) really fast lol
Now, I still have the issue where I reverse the left track doesn't move and the tank just spins.
Tracks seem to be adjusted nicely, so only thing I can think of that's left is the motherboard. Thoughts? |

| I'd think the same. It's probably the motherboard, I suggest you check all wires are correctly plugged in before replacing the motherboard. Or you could try resetting the motherboard/RC tank and rebinding the remote to it, not entirely sure how to do that but I'm certain you can search it up online. No guarantees though, since I'm on the less experienced side of RC. Hope I helped anyway! Oh and Good luck too. |

| If you swap the motor connection, does the tank not reverse on the right (other) side then ? If that's the case then you can rule out the gearbox and the wiring and basically tells you it is the MFU.
On the otherhand if left is still the problem then it is probably wiring/mechnical on the left side.

| Thanks for the assistance guys. Sure enough, reversed the motor connections and now the right hand side doesn't reverse.
I searched for resetting the board but didn't see anything, is it possible?
Guess if it's not I'm on the search for a used board |

| The FET is probably burnt out on the left side. Not much you can do about it but replace it with a new board. Is it RX-18s ? You can get those pretty cheap. If you are in TO I know a guy that sells Heng Long stuff out of his basement at 401 and Warden. That's probably the quickest way or find a fellow member that have a used one lying one they are willing to part with. |

| I'm in Alberta. How do I tell if it is the rx-18? It's 2.4ghz, not sure if they are all on the rx18 or not.
Do you have a contact number or email? Maybe he'd be willing to ship one. Is the one for Henglong the same as Taigen? |

| There are some images on Matomart showing two different types of rx18 board. See if yours matchs exactly with the ones in the image, including the correct transmitter/Radio Controller. http://www.matomart.com/prodview.php?p=3348
If yours does match with one in the image, then your motherboard is probably a rx18 but Henglong.
If your motherboard looks like this: https://www.google.ca/search?q=taigen+rx18&safe=strict&tbm=isch&imgil=K6cdCg-ek8mr-M%253A%253BRUifeYuWshTisM%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fheng-long-panzer.de%25252Fen%25252FHeng-Long-and-Taigen-RC-Tanks-electronics%25252FNew-speed-controller-RX-18-2-4-GHz-receiver--cable-and-fan.html&source=iu&pf=m&fir=K6cdCg-ek8mr-M%253A%252CRUifeYuWshTisM%252C_&usg=__Oi_9rtuT8zBh8P6Lsf24qUKoGaw%3D#imgrc=K6cdCg-ek8mr-M: Then it likely is Taigen Rx 18 board.
Sorry I don't know much about Henglong and Taigen and if they're compatible or not, so I can't confirm it. I'm just trying to find out which motherboard you have. Hope I helped! |

| Looks like Taigen is coming out with a v2 of their board, guess will wait and see what the cost is on for one.
Let's use stock remote or 3rd party Proportional smoke Better sound
Are some of the key features I was looking forward to. |
