I plan to do a rough cut on the field by Wed. May 16th, or before, weather permitting.  

1st cut of the season.


We will need some help to get it ready with a final cut/prep. on May 17th or 18th.

I plan to do the rough cut Monday.

I can handle this, I am not sure what time I will be there right now because I will be on a job site until late in the afternoon.

If you have a lawn mower and/or a weed trimmer, we could use help on Thurs. or Fri. evening; waiting to see which day is best, I will give some notice.

Also, as always, I am watching the weather forecast.

If the weather cooperates, I hope to do the 1st cut Monday evening.

I have a work commitment on Monday that makes it tough to say when I can get there exactly, but I can handle that by myself.

The field will need to be prep.'ed again on Thurs. or Fri.; i.e. cut short and raked.  This, too, will be weather dependent.

I have my 1979 vintage Lawnboy which I cut the field with, and an electric, corded trimmer.

I think we can set this up, I am working on it.

I did a rough cut on the field tonight.

We are getting rapid grass growth right now, I looked at it last week and it was OK but tonight it was ankle deep.

I had to set my mower up to get through it, it is not tank-ready but it has been knocked down.

It will need to be cut shorter and the "hay" dealt with, if the weather is OK for a May 19th meet.

I can't get there on Thursday due to other, prior commitments.

It would have to be Friday, unless someone else wants to prep the field without me.

Unfortunately, work and other things are demanding of my time right now.

We'll also need to watch the forecasts, both for field prep day and the actual meet; weather is looking a bit "iffy" but it is too early to tell and make any decisions, as of Monday night.

They usually are already setup or starting by 9am? Runs until late afternoon. (Weather and people permitting). Bring a folding chair to sit on! And clothes/stuff for how long you plan on staying (Hat/sunscreen/water/etc...)

The 09:00 time is correct.

Please watch this forum thread to make sure the meet is a "go".

We need good weather on the meet day, but also a day or so before to get the field ready, which takes a minimum of 2 or 3 hours work to cut the grass short and rake, if necessary.

NOTE: we will not have the use of the Black Creek Centre's folding tables for this event, as we usually do, they have another, annual event going on that has 1st priority of table use, this is a one time thing.

I am concerned about the weather for the May 19th meet day and posted this on another thread;

Weather is a difficult part of the scenario and a tough call. 

I don't want people who travel any distance to the meet make the effort to get here, only to find out it has been scrubbed due to weather.

Also, there is some effort required to get the field ready on the Friday night before the meet so I am reluctant to do that if the Sat. weather is poor.
