| Hey guys, I was wondering if we could set up a standard for tank sensitivity? As far as the SLU goes you can adjust it by %, which I suppose allows you to adjust the range at which you register hits.
My idea would be say, allowing it to adjust with scale / approximate armor values. So, we could set a Tiger 2 to 50%, Tiger to 60%, M26/Bulldogs to 70%, Shermans 80% and P3's 80-90%.
Concerns would be comparability between different systems, DBC, TBU, etc. Would we be able to compensate?
It just seems that we could take advantage of the use of heavy vs light tanks more effectively, ie, putting the Tigers / KV1s up front of an advance to take advantage of the tactical armor values.
Lemme know if you think this could work, what the drawbacks would be, etc. I think it would add a great element to team play & tactics. |

| The problem is the environment. If we play the game under the direct Sun light like last sunday, you almost cannot hit anything about 5-6 feet away. |

| If the lighter tanks are at too much of disadvantage, you risk the chance of less people of using them.
You would have to have the team's total hit count at a set limit, so you don't have all heavy tanks slugging it out. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| Yea, I suppose the balancing factor would be speed, and it just isn't great enough. It'd work if all the lights were 2x as fast as the heavies. Still the lights have that rate of fire advantage. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

Perhaps we should mass produced the shade covers you have tried out? Will that alleviate some of the sunlight issues? |

| This idea just popped back into my head tonight. I had to search for the thread!
I think perhaps if we experiment with just the heavies (with SLU..) maybe setting them down to 50-60%, you can actually add a tactical reason to field a mix of heavy tanks & lights.
ie. A tiger waltzing brazenly into the town square, and holding it, using heavies as HEAVIES, shields to prevent the enemy's movements. If two heavies square off, lighter tanks can force them out of cover by flanking, etc.
Maybe only 1 designated 'super' heavy per team, clearly identified. Perhaps more of a scenario situation.
Problems. Non SLU tanks. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

I would like to see some sort of adjustment made, too. So far I have only operated heavies and while the high hit count is an advantage, my experience is that the slow rate of fire really handicaps them; and if they are set up for scale speed, like mine are, this makes it even more challenging. This will become more noticeable when Stince fields his Elefant and if I convert my Jadgpanther to IR, if there isn't some sort of "compensation" for these large, turret-less tanks, there will be little incentive to field them beyond the enjoyment of building them. I am not suggesting some huge advantage but IMHO, it would be nice to have some sort of compensation; while we cannot expect to achieve total reality in IR tank battles, these tanks were tougher to take out, especially at any distance. When I get my Pz IV converted to IR, I will be quite happy to run it at the high sensitivity/low hit count which is considered appropriate to it. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I like the idea too . Last meet I was more aware of the use of strategies which makes it more interesting . Also allowing for different tank types to perform as intended would tend to make us fight as a platoon. That said , a tank like , say oh I don't know , maybe a KV2 could still rampage across the field like a bull in a china shop crushing and destroying . Whats bigger than KV2 ? |
