| Since there were 6 of us and I was not able to help set out buildings, we went with fewer buildings and no trees.
I think this worked out pretty well for a change.
We could shake things up a bit more for each meet; one other idea was to set all the trees out without any buildings, not all the time, just once and a while, for a change.

Well, at least you didn't miss Captain Action, he deprived us all of his presence, today _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| The decisions are not written in stone. We talked about two indoor battle days this winter, and criteria for rain day cancellation. Nothing big.
The other thing we decided was a second keyholdee I case something happens to me. |

| Sorry Derek. No secrets really. We ran a bunch of 3 on 3 battles. Wayne ditched his Pershing in spectacular fashion. Ian's King Tiger got into the fight, but blew a track link apart. I took advantage of the situation and showered him in 76mm AP. I really liked having less terrain. As a result, combat mostly happened between 10 and 20 feet. I think Glen got the longest hit at almost 40 ft on me. Ian tumbled backwards over one of those green markers and nearly shattered his pelvis. I am positive I heard Jordan laugh at him. ......... just kidding. My Sherman blew a turret gear and all my batteries are pooched. |

That was the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 in the King Tiger The day started an bit on the slow side, I thought. I was slower even than normal with my back "owies" , people started to show up and we had to wait for the field to dry up. HOWEVER, things picked up very quickly in the first hour and a bit, then it was non-stop action, pretty much. I liked the open field concept, too. i thought it keep it interesting to try different themes at each meet, such as no buildings/all trees, buildings in different place, few buildings (like on Oct. 20th) etc. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| [quote="Stince"]Man you guys are like the KGB, you don't say anything! You guessed it I do not talk much except when some one else talks to me and typing a narritive on any key board is beyond my desire and capabilities ( Face to face yes ), AI ( Artifical Inteligence ), not so much ) The four corner posts, please lets remove them, I also tripped on one and was carrying my tank at the time but lucked out and recovered. The good side of this is yes we were more spread out and not bunched together in a town. In real life I would not send 6 tanks into a our town, maybe two or three small towns and more open area would be great but as we all have discussed before that does create more work for everything, grass cutting, ditches, rivers, trees etc. I think we would have more fun if we expanded our field ( There I said it ) So far Tim and Glen ( And maybe Tims Dad) have been doing the dirty work, There are 4 or 5 of us who live right here and I am sure we can get together and contribute to the greater good. (One less thing to cut around, too). We could set some bricks in the ground as markers that would still mark the field but would be flush with the ground, I can supply the bricks. (Might as well expand the field when we set the bricks ) _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I think everyone misunderstands...
I did not trip over the corner marker post, it was Wayne's tank that shot me and the recoil of the blast hit me so hard, it sent me flying.

| Just as a suggestion, but what about marking the corners with spay paint like when the city marks your front lawn before they start digging it up. The paint usually last a couple of months with multiple cutting. Might have to touch it up 2-4 times year. And that's guys for the info! I think I'm becoming a junkie for Battledays. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger
