After almost 50 years I've got back into the tank hobby. I can't remember the scale in 1973 but I assume it was 1/35 or 1/24 for my Tamiya Panther, Jagdpanther, and T-34 versions that had the weak motor cogs and wired controller that ate batteries like crazy and then the button contacts totally self destructed quickly. Fast forward to now and over the last 6 months I've bought a Taigen Tiger and Panther 1/16 metal versions and they are just amazing but watching YT vids and reading here about battles it seems if you don't have the Tamiya IR system they are useless. Can I still attend a battle day just to run the tanks around? The next tank I buy I will fit to Tamiya IR spec

Welcome, and yes! There is never an issue of just coming out and driving around. Metal lower Taigens are the best launching points next to actual Tamiya Tanks.

Welcome, of course, comer out and run around and you will see lots of Taigens retro fitted for our IR battles... :-)

Great. I'd certainly like to come out to one and see everybody's tanks in action. In the meantime I'll read up here on what I need to do to maybe retrofit the Tiger to battle standards. Thanks
