| Alright a fellow is offering to sell me his Tiger 1 since he upgraded to a Tamiya King Tiger (And Turning it into a beast) It has the following parts so and since i have no idea what is solid and not any advice here would be great.
Hull:AsiaTam lower hull with torsion bar suspension, Asiatam Upper hull with all metal working hatches Barrel:Recoil, Aluminum barrel & Brass Muzzlebreak Gear Box:Mato 3:1 brass gearboxes, Tracks:Late AsiaTam steel tracks, Road Wheels:Asiatam Late Metal Road Wheels Turret:Stock Henglong (would replace this with a metal one) Motors:Stock Mato Board:Need to buy Lights:is fiber optic MG\cannon has the high tension flag when firing.
Well what could i pay for this set up the guy wants 400 or so...So the same as as a Taigen all Metal stock pretty much what do you guys think? _____________________________________________ |

| If you plan on IR battling with it, your going to need better motors, because with all that metal it will turn into a pillbox after the first hit. But if your going to just cruise around the backyard it should be fine. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

But if you want a tank that is going to be a good IR battler, then light the tank the better. Your move-ability and battery life will be better. I am waiting to see if freaky gets back to me about a Metal Tiegan and upgrade kit still.... Anyhow i would need a board and two motors right? IF i did go with Freaky it would be what the System upgrade pack + 480 Motors ? _____________________________________________ |

| Strato might be able to answer that one. His Tiger has some weight to it, I know he upgraded the motors but not sure which ones. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

Well what could i pay for this set up the guy wants 400 or so...So the same as as a Taigen all Metal stock pretty much what do you guys think? I swore I replied to this... guess it went missing! I think you have a great deal here. First off the motors will be adequate for you. I have 400s in my heavy Tiger, and they perform well. The stock Mato motors are 380s, I believe. Gearbox's are solid, they'll work really well assuming theyre not damaged. The barrel & metal mantlet are great. I never got that for my Tiger because of the outright cost, simply for recoil effect.. but the asiatam barrel is great. Thats basically all this tank has that mine does not. Jealous Asiatam tracks are really nice, best for the Tiger. The Late roadwheels are awesome too, thing is they may or may NOT have bearings, some did and some did not from Asiatam... my early Tiger metal wheels do not, and they work just fine anyway. In any case the LATE wheels are 33.3% lighter than the earlys, because they only have 2 rows instead of 3. Even better Don't worry about a metal turret, it serves no purpose and they are expensive / heavy. No one can tell once it's painted anyway If you can get a decent deal on shipping, I'd go for it. Add a Clark & half decent Turnigy radio (like $50 online..), and you're set. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Awesome! How much would a good board & Decent Radio add to the cost (And where could i find one...) the guy said he just had the tank running so i dought it will have broken gears he is upgrading to a Tamiya tiger 1 to convert it into whittmans Tank. Also i can always upgrade the Motors later on if need be, - Strato50 wrote:

| I guess it comes with no electronics?
Probably another $150 with a Clark (lowest cost anyway) and a low cost radio. Check ebay for a used radio& receiver if you don't have one already. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| Not a bad price shipped at all. Remember not everyone's first car is a Ferrari Any basic 4 channel will do, you're not flying a stunt rc chopper here. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

While the full metal Tiger has a good base and quality parts, the electronics are HengLong garbage, and those gearbox's will last about 2 hours before the bushings eat themselves, or half the gears are stripped. Spend another $200 to get it working nicely, and throw out brand new parts... the main downfall of RTR Taigens / HL tanks. We all have PILES of usually-crappy HL parts. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT
