My progress in the last couple days!I bit the bullet and used the band-saw to cut the UPPER hull today down the middle... I finally decided I didn't like the wider look the way I originally had it. It went smoothly and sanding out a new turret opening wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. Yay sanding drum dremel attachment! It's back together as you can see. I just need to reinforce it a bit more.
I reworked (again) the rear end, making things line up better with the newly narrow upper hull. Lots of detail work getting started! You can probably also see new Asiatam PnzIII track tensioners, courtesy of Mike!!
Starting the detail work on the engine deck.
Fins! More fins!!
All regular styrene sheet and C-channel sections, and Stinger's copper rod!
Elevated the hull ceiling a bit to fix the front angle and correct the hull profile slightly. Mostly cosmetic but the turret has more clearance now too.
New hull ceiling
Correct front ceiling angle above the drivers port & machine gun section.

Looking much cleaner!
I guess I'll have to rename this section "WWII German & Other Axis Countries".

Thanks Stince! I'm really happy with how the rear deck looks, nice and defined and crisp like you said. The tank will look great if I manage to get the turret to look as nice.
There are details to add all over but the major hull work is wrapping up. Turret work should start this week. I finished the exhaust and mufflers but I'll keep them separate until paint goes on

HAH, yes Action they certainly did! Any they had in great numbers were effective in their environments and their employment, but were vastly inferior to the Sherman. However in China and vs the Lee and Stuart they were effective.
The bigger & more modern Japanese tanks were either produced in low numbers for home island defense or were prototypes with only a few hulls and turrets completed. This particular tank had only 2 completed, but the VERY similar Type 3 Chi Nu had around 200 built.
Phew! So many pictures...
