Picture my hobby room.  Like most, full with cool stuff, tanks, planes, battleships, paints, specialty parts, you name it.   Two days ago, somehow a grey squirrel managed to get into my workshop.  I'm thinking he came down the chimney (without Santa) and got into my hobby room.

As freaked out as a squirrel can be while under the stress of being trapped, the rodent decided to tear my workshop and hobby room apart.  A lot of stuff that was neatly placed on shelves, he had no regard for.  Tanks, radios, paints and parts all crashing to the ground.  Broken glass, paint all over the place and lots of broken parts.   He also decided that one of my battleships should not be on the shelf and decided to send that to the bottom of the ocean.   Lots of damage.

As of two hours ago, I finally trapped the culprit in a live cage that I purchased and promptly court marshaled him.   I gave him a dishonorable discharge to my back yard much to everyone's satisfaction.

It looks like a war zone in my work shop and hobby room after he was done with it....really made a mess.

Clean up duty called in...

I would have had a summary execution on the spot!

Sorry to hear Ian, hope that nothing is beyond repair at least but I guess we know what you will be doing all winter! Sad

If you had seen the damage, I don't think a raccoon could have done more to be honest.

Too bad you didn't have all those storage bin before hand.  No

Even if I had them, they are only for transport not storage/display.  It still would have happened.  You never think of making your workshop squirrel or raccoon proof.

My 6 ft Typhoon Submarine was fortunately clamped down as I'm working on it, or it too would be a casualty.

Results:

3 radios smashed beyond repair, two tank barrels snapped and multiple broken parts on another 4 more tanks.  Battleship, probably 6-10 hours worth of repairs.  The 6 axle tank trailer also sustained damage.  That should be a fairly easy fix though.   Could have been worse.  The King Tigers didn't get damaged as they are too heavy for the squirrel to move.   Anything with steel tracks was also saved...weight being the saving factor I think.
