| I need a little help. it turns out that i can not run the stock plastic drive sprocket on the new gearbox i put in. it will make the tracks run 1/8 off of the road wheels and even if i put the stock box back i've buggered up the sprocket trying to get it to fit. does anyone have a pair of plastic ones i can use for the weekend? I would like to get the metal ones that fit these new gear boxes but have yet to get a reply _____________________________________________ I do things in the name of science but first hold my beer

| Does PzIV use the same sprcokets as the PzIII ? Strange that I don't have a set of PzIVs but I have two sets of plastic PzIII's as far as I can tell and its yours if it fits.

MikeC. They will be too big for the stock Panzer IV, they won't clear the fenders (Ive tried...) Panzer III sprockets are significantly larger. Makes for a faster tank. Russel, what gearboxes are you trying to fit? Most of the black-steel HL style gearboxes from Taigen, especially, need to have the flat section of the driveshaft filed or grinded down just a hair... most standard metal / plastic sprockets will be an extremely tight fit if you don't do this. They WILL get stuck on... Im curious about your setup. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant

I believe the Mato ones (I may be wrong, it's been awhile) are completely craaaaap... the dimensions are all wrong and they don't even come close to lining up with the track. | everything i've added to this so far fits like a glove when i used the stock gearbox and drive sprocket and it was the same with the plastic tracks hear is what gears i got but then i got to thinking. It hurt abit but once the smoke cleared i took the stock gear box out.........again and compared them. anyone else see the problem? _____________________________________________ I do things in the name of science but first hold my beer

Looks like the shaft on the right one is longer. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| That's a problem.. and it doesn't look like they're "long shaft" boxes either.. I believe the length difference is 1cm exactly (Please correct me ) Thats more like 3-4mm, which means they may have cut corners on assembly. Lame.. is the opposite gearbox the same length? _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant

| Well the new ones are longer, right ? So can you sand them down or do you have to sand down the notch part instead ? Is there a difference on the notch part from the mount point as well as the length of the drive shaft ? |

| the notch is the same size so i would have to that down with the shaft but i'm more disappointed right now. you buy stuff for it that should be a drop in and i have to mod or buy other things to make it work _____________________________________________ I do things in the name of science but first hold my beer
