Looks good! Partially metal turret, new metal lower hull, metal wheels & running gear... looks really nice.
No word yet on the suspension but I suspect it will be HL coil springs or something imitating Christie suspension... torsion bars don't exist on T-34s
They just announced this so I suppose more information will be coming out soon.

I like the idea of the lower metal chassis.
I just don't get the reasoning behind metal turrets.
You can't modify the turret with out major work, and has anyone thought of will happen over time with the weight of these on the plastic upper hulls. Exceptionally after using them outside for a couple hot summer years, one would think it would start to sink.
They are also bragging about a 360 turret. By the looks of their video the turret goes all the away around once and then back again to prevent the wires from tangling. Tamiyas already do it and you could mod a Heng Long in about 20 minutes, you just need to notch out the last tooth where the blocker is. Now if it is able to keep going around in the same direction multiple times, then I'm impressed.

I think they're suggesting unlimited rotation with a slip ring system, but it's limited to 'the wires that already exist within 'our' tanks' .... so if you have more than the stock number of wires, well, too bad. They've shown no pictures yet.
The metal turrets have some sort of novelty factor I don't quite understand. Still I want to see inside this tank asap.

Metal tank means you need new gear box, new motor, new ESC.. etc.

So far it's being released with the taigen 4:1 steel gears with bearings, the same units I use in my KV-2 and Tiger.... I don't think it needs that high of a reduction now that they have standard ratio steel gears, but let's see what it weighs. over 12lbs~ and 4:1s make sense...
The turret isn't ALL metal so maybe this tank is under 12 pounds.

o there have been a few updates from Taigen about this tank, check out this video...
...Taigen has a completely new set of steel gears in this thing, with final drive units.. wow!
So, I was wrong at first.. that is NOT a HengLong hull at all.
Also it has TRUE 360 degree turret rotation.

It looks really nice from the video and pictures from the Taigen Facebook page. The turret rotation seems to be the same thing Tank Army has been selling as well (slip rings) so it should be able to go round and round.
Strange that they also fixed the suspension height but it is the same mechanism as HL so would really like to know what they did. It might just be the same fix. I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to that and the drive sprocket and the idler still looks a little off (too close to the road bogies) but at least it is the right height now. Still think the WSN one is the defacto look.
Not a big fan of the T34/85 but this one definitely has me thinking about it.

I like what they are doing, but 2 things bug me about this T-34.
Why a metal turret, what's the purpose/benefit?
And it's wwaaaayyyy over textured! You'll have to spread some putty over just to fill some of it in.

What Taigen is doing is taking me completely by surprise. I thought at first they were just repackaging most of the HengLong T-34 and sticking on metal bits, akin to their other metal release. This is all new stuff. I'm surprised they went as far as building a totally new gearbox... I foresee them releasing tank destroy versions in the future to get more return on one gearbox type...!
Looks like they have actual functioning Christie suspension in there too with vertical travel springs.. neat.
Stince the texturing is even bolder than what's on my HL turret, you're right. Liberal application of paint, I guess..

Don't get me wrong, I love what they've done with the bottom hull. I'm just confused by some of the decisions for the upper hull.
