| Yea they're ridiculous but handy when you have 12 tanks. I was donated mine Wish Clark would step up and manufacture them. I'm more than vocal about how shitty the quality control among Taigen / HL apples is and crap range :\ _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| What makes those tamiya apples so expensive ? The impacts seem reasonable , I'd like to change over a couple of my tanks , if it makes a difference, on hits or giving hits , I certainly didn't have a problem taking a hit from a tamiya , SLU , IBU , or another clark , if the board itself makes a difference, that's with my basic henglong setups , I even leave my apple rings chrome without painting , to receive the shot , not deflect it , I tried painting the rings to see if it made a difference , and with leaving the tanks in same position , it would no longer take a hit , strange but true , lol , these are things I've tried since my emmitter and apple problems at beginning of year |

| Never paint the sensors They're expensive because Tamiya, they limit supply and everything with their name on it costs twice as much as it ought to... they are the best and most reliable sensor though. It's nice that they have proper bright LED's too so hits are obvious. Most aftermarket towers lack lights or they just suck and showing up in daylight. Daylight seems to be the main issue with HL or Taigen sensors, it's probably the quality of components that are crap at filtering out natural IR and tanks end up with a 5 foot hit range. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I agree , the latest blue rings from rcta are even worse , they have orange leds around them , and can't see at all , as for hit range I'd like to do some testing at next meet to what works and doesn't work , I'm sure you guys done this before, but be interesting to see for us new guys within last year to examine , I understand about the quality of the henglong equipment, but you have to think about the newbie who just bought your 400 dollar tank , pop your apple out , then tell him that's an extra 100 bucks if he wants it , lol |

| Speaking of IR hits and such. I know that I asked this of Dean and Mike, but with IR bulbs, what is the consensus of what are the best emitters? Wavelength? Any required resistors? |

| Resistors no, and I think the wavelength is 940nm. You want to mount the bulb in a tube / barrel that is at least 8mm long on the inside.
I ordered 100 of these puppies http://www.jameco.com/z/LTE-2871-Lite-On-Technology-Corporation-Infrared-LED-Emitter-High-Intensity-Narrow-Beam-940nm-T1-3-4-Modified-Package_2162548.html _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I'm just looking to see what would be a good IR emitter to stock up on and there are far too many variations... Lots of info that I have no idea what is pertinent.
