PostSubject: KW GARRISON ANNUAL DUES   Mon Nov 13, 2017 2:42 pm

Greetings Gentlemen,

Well, it is that time of year again. We had a fantastic inaugural first season at the KW field outside of one rain day. Thanks to all who supported us and came out for some great battles. And so moving forward

As many of you know Ed (knispel) and I have spent a lot of hours and a couple of thousand bucks getting the field to where it is today. And we intend to continue to improve the field in the coming years and yes spend more time and money! (Wait until you see the trailer next spring!)

As a result of this I have decided that there is no way for me to attend more than one or 2 battledays away from Kitchener for the coming year. Just to busy with a regular full time job, a side business, and maintaining the field here not mention some semblance of family life! And since we will be spending a lot more time at our home field we have decided to increase the scheduled and unofficial battledays to twice a month with 3 FULL weekends to be scheduled for next year.

For those few who joined last year I thank you. As you know most of the money goes to the Rod and Gun club membership as it should for them letting us use this great facility. The rest will go to help offset a small portion of the field costs.

Also as shown below each field is responsible for collecting thier own dues so for Ft. Erie contact Glen B and for Mississauga contact Hach

The cost of membership in the Garrison will be $150.00 annually paid no later than December 2017 for the 2018 season. Additional family members are only $10.00 per member.

This payment entitles you to the following:

1. A new KW Garrison T-shirt (available for the first meet in April/May 2018).
2. FREE admittance to Aquino Weekend at the Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa.
2. Use and privileges of both the KW Garrison battlefield as well as the Waterloo Rod and Gun Club anytime.
4. 5 free tickets on the draw for the Club item (last year was the Pershing tank. This year??? wait and see:-).
5. FREE New CanAm R/C Club logo window decal for your car.
6. Invitations to all the Gun Club special activities like Ribfest, Spaghetti night, etc..
7. Use of the gun facilities upon orientation course completion. (Takes about 1/2 an hour. Ed and I are qualified)

There are a few details we would like to point out as well. Several of our meets for the KW Garrison will be WEEKEND events. (The schedule will be coordinated with the other 2 fields early in the new year) We will begin Friday night with set up and perhaps some dusk battles. Full day Saturday, Sunday until 3. There is limited camping available if you so desire and I will look into other things in conjunction with that like hydro, showers, etc... These will be official scheduled events however as a member you are free to come out to the club and use the field at your leisure. So if 3 or 4 of us want to get together for a Thursday night scramble we can do so!

Please be aware we are also going to implement Certified classes of tanks for battle. We will always have plenty of open class battles but we are going to introduce Class A certification of tanks. We will go into more detail on this shortly but it will include things like a Tamiya apples (Impact will be acceptable) , Scale OFF ROAD speed, IR emitter range and scatter testing, receiver range testing,  reload times, proper hits to kill ratio for the type of tank, and a few other minor details.

Now, should you choose not to join the KW Garrison that is no problem at all. We understand that not everyone may be into that big a commitment. We will allow a play as you go system which will mean you can come to scheduled events only and the cost will be $30.00 per day to participate with one days free allowance for NEW participants.

The membership fee for Ft. Erie will remain the same at $25.00. This NOT covered by the KW Garrison membership but is paid separately to Glen B. The Mississauga club has yet to determine theirs. Contact Hach for more information.

The field is an on going money pit of course! Well over $2000 has been spent to get the field to the point it is now however much more work needs to be done! Thew rivers need to be sealed, the pump system put in, a fresh load of clay for the roads, new buildings, more landscaping, trailer move and hydro installed, painting of exterior of the trailer, etc... so as you can see these dues will only cover a fraction of the layout needed to create a nice permanent field at the gun club. I'm sure many of you have noticed I have been selling kits and creating some small products which I am selling all over the world. The profits from this will primarily be directed toward the costs to build this field. I'm not a rich man but I am willing to try to get this going with not just my sweat and tears but also my money. If anyone is willing to donate more money than the required fee it will be much appreciated of course!

Attached you will find the form for membership to the Waterloo Rod and Gun Club. Please print, fill in, and scan this and e-mail it back to me. The funds can be sent by paypal to dgsselkirk@gmail.com  If you need a cleaner copy you can e-mail me and I can send you a PDF file.  or those of you how are not able to scan and e-mail you can just put all your information in an e-mail to me and I can fill in the form.
For those of you who joined last year you can simply forward the funds and a new card will be mailed to you.

If anyone has any questions at all by all means let me know!

Thanks for posting those details (all of them, not just what I quoted).

Also, for general information, the $25.00 paid at Fort Erie ALL goes to the Black Creek Community Centre which gives us the use of the field, building and BBQ, etc.

I will be posting a Black Creek (Fort Erie) membership form later, as soon as they are available.  This will help anyone that comes out there pre-fill their form next season, if they have printing capability at home.

The intent is to run a meet every month at Fort Erie, from April to Oct. in 2018, schedule to be announced once scheduling is set up between the fields, as Dean said.  Our meets in the 2017 season were too few and far between.

At Fort Erie, we will continue to run with a more open format of tank set up, unless enough attendees want to set up an A Class and someone more knowledgeable than me wants to set up and administer it.  Personally, I like the idea, for example, I have always set my tanks up for scale off road speed (i.e. s l o w) and my newer tanks have Tamiya receivers, but, we will go with what the group that comes to Fort Erie chooses.

Please remember, this forum is you information life line for schedules and for whether or not a meet is a "go" due to weather.  Also, as we get into the season, a post as to whether or not you can attend is also appreciated.

Please look for more postings over the next few months, as things shape up for the 2018 season.
