| Hi all, Started playing with the new Devo F4 FPV radio from Curtis and want to demonstrate the new model matching function. I have also on order a Turnigy 9XR which has similar functions but can be made to control the old 9X receivers (no model matching or telemetry though). Basically with model matching you can match a model with a specific receiver, which means that you can change control of different receiver (tank) on the fly with one radio, as long as the other tanks are matched already and also power on. As you can see in the video, both tanks are already on, and they will take hits as shown at the beginning. The radio is already on and has selected model 1 which is the Tiger on the right of the video. When I want to switch over to the Tiger on the left, I simply select that model on the radio and off you go. As you can see, I can go back and forth between the Tigers with two clicks on the radio. https://youtu.be/iOnc3310avYThis will open up a whole new set of battle scenarios like tank platoon, reserve back-ups, or stationary tank destroyers in a certain area etc. The new receivers will also have telemetry capability, such as battery level, two other voltage monitor and also 3 different temperature and GPS. I think only tank battery level is built-in and you will need additional sensors for other voltages/temperatures and GPS but you can access all of them directly on the radio. I am hoping to have my Leo all wired up with FPV for the next battle day, but will be able to show the model matching functions for sure using my Tiger tank platoons......... MikeC. |
