| This showed up today ! I had the 8x8 HEMTT long ago but traded it to Jack. Then they came out with the trailer and also the Crane pack so I have both coming still. Will eventually carry my Tamiya M1A2 but for now will try the Merkava and maybe the Leo2A6 and see how it looks. |

| It is bigger than I expected and solid as a rock. Comparable to $1500+ 1/10 scale trailers.
First order of thing, changing load springs. The factory install one is for 40Kg load. WTF ?!?!?! So stiff I couldn't even press down on them without standing on it.
Also interesting that it has a separate battery compartment so when it is unhitch from the HEMTT there is self power to raise the ramp. Otherwise it is overriden with two servo control from the HEMTT. |

| That trailer is HUGE... But it is 1/12th scale. (Nice Merkava BTW). |

| To be honest they say 1/12, I think it is more like 1/14. Definitely not 1/16, but not 1/12 either. I fitted a 1/14 Tamiya truck driver in the cabin and it fits perfectly.
Maybe you won't there when I took the Merkava out not the last meet but the one before ? It is a big tank even sitting next to the Challengers and the Leos.
My plan is to put my Tamiya M1A2 with the bulldozer kit from DKLM on the trailer, so it will fit it up nicely. |

| Is that the same unit they use as the recovery vehicle in the Danville battle videos? |

That is the recovery trailer I recall from Danville. Not sure if it is a modified Bruder low loader trailer. |

| That actually is the same set-up Dean is selling right now. A 1/14 Tamiya King Hauler converted painted in Army Green with a converted Bruder. It actually has a long worm gear for raising and lowering the ramp.
The one I have is much much larger and heavier and it meant for the HEMTT 8x8 which has a higher 5th wheel (The trailer hitch mount). Also the one I have the ramp mechanism is independent direct gear driven not worm gears with push rods. |

| I will. I should have the 8x8 tractor as well then and the crane kit. Just need a tank to put on it that is big enough. |

| That’s the combo I have. Doesn’t look right on WWII tanks other than like a Maus or JT or T28/T95. |

| Lol... MikeC… You keep circling back to this thing... I like the factory dump-box option, that is kinda cool.
Can the crane be mounted at the same time as the trailer? |

| I know I know..... and yes, the crane set can go on at the same time as the hitch. That's exactly while I ended up with the whole package deal ! |

| Finally sorted it all out. They use to sell these with sound and light now you have to buy them separate and put it in yourself. The stock radio and receiver will control the crane until the trailer is hook up. Once the trailer is hook up then all the crane function will stop working and the trailer control kicks in (ramp up down and also turn signals).
Will add in magnetic plugs so that when the trailer is unhitch it will pull the connections apart and then the crane activates again. The trailer when unhitch will automatically flash 4 ways. The only thing missing is the trailer kick stand needs to come down when detached from tractor. It might have to be something mechanical.
Either way it is now fully operational as a recovery vehicle. No more manually turning on and off stuff like last time everything is on the radio. I am very impress with the integration but did brunt out some bulbs when I try to fix a train monkey mistake on the trailer (The turn signal is plug on the wrong side and when I swap the two wiring it burnt out one whole side of bulbs because the train monkey used a motor wire with the wrong polarity on the lights).
Will bring it out again at the next indoor meet (I assumme). |

| Cool that you figured out what up with the control scheme. Sucky that they had monkeys wiring the trailer LED's. |

| It says it is a kit and also the box has both the radar and the launcher in one box. My dream would be it comes with both and you can choose. Worst case I buy one and can probably get the other without the trailer as a separate part.
The trailer looks identical on both and the mechanical bits seems to be the same (i.e. up/down and 360 rotation) plus the trailer leg extension and retraction. |
