So the JCC recoil unit is good... But I want to make it even better...

I'm in process of designing a Universal HL compact recoil system. One that can be used for Any large HL turret, as well as Panther and STUG side mounted elevation types.

Now I just need to get a Stug and Panther airsoft/recoil unit to measure against.


Shifting the Servo to the opposite side, allowing usage with or without a spring impact system.


Inclusion of the side elevation bars on the former servo side. Tail will be made that will be the alignment blade used on the Stugs/Panthers etc...

What I need? Anyone have old "unbroken" Stug & Panther recoil units? Donate them to me and I will give you the first working production units (sans Servo).

I need to see if I need the "Pivot" mounts to be removable... Or if they are usable in a Stug gun mount system...

So noone has a spare (used) Stug III Airsoft unit? I find that hard to believe

the airsoft unit is the same as all the other ones with the only difference being the tab on the back for elevation is cut off and has a slide type on the side instead

It looks different due to the mounting though...


Or is this an older style and all the newer ones have the pivot mounts on the unit?

So there ARE two styles for the Stug III... and the uppers are different... Airsoft vs IR...


Airsoft version.... Note the pivot posts on the sides of the mechanism, and the smaller front mounted side elevation motor. No elevation alignment blade.


Recoil/IR version. No pivot posts on the sides of the recoil mechanism, and the larger, rearward mounted elevation motor (plus the blade for alignment...)

I'm probably going to focus on the Airsoft version. I can only assume that the IR version is rare as hell. Anyone have qn airsoft unit from a Stug I can borrow?
