As a new owner of a couple of Heng Long tanks with the plastic gearboxes,
I was wondering what, if any, lubrication should be used on these? [Also frequency (?)]
I was thinking of using white lithium grease for the gears, and a light machine oil or similar for shafts, ect, however I'm not sure about how the plastic gears used in HL tanks would respond to lubricants.
My backup plan in the event of a gearbox failure is to replace with metal gears (which of course need lube) but before I get to that point I'm just looking for good preventative maintenance practices for the equipment I currently have.
Couldn't find anything in the manuals and there is conflicting info online with respect to running plastic gears lubed vs dry, so I am wondering if lubing plastic gears is even recommended. Any feedback on this would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance
