I didn't know I was going out to Milton until last night and when i saw it was actually going to be dry I threw 3 tanks in the truck and figured I'd do those small improvements on the gully roads in the north west corner and did 2 small things on what is left of Ren's hill. Hopefully they stick. But without a wheelbarrow there really is little that can be done. I flattened out where I want to place the church and town square but it will require dirt to finish it to get the rubber mats on it. We are going to need so much dirt to get where the airfield was. The whole field looks like the Eglinton LRT construction in Toronto. Hopefully it isn't also going to take 15+ years to finish half of it     I might go out mid week next week depending on the weather. I'd like to get some of the mess cleaned up before i leave in mid-May

Mitch if you do go the next few days could you measure the size of the wheel on the green wheelbarrow. It has the front guard so can't get a wheel too big to fit. I might come out Tuesday and Wednesday and try and get a flat free wheel from somewhere in Kitchener. I figure maybe a dozen loads of dirt barrowed over from behind the house and screened with loads of rocks going the other direction should be a good start plus digging out the river properly. Looking at pics from June 2021 it's a stark contrast now with all the top soil washed away just leaving the gravel and rocks everywhere

Ok thanks Mitch. Ordered one from Amazon. Planning on working a full day on Wednesday and maybe Thursday. How did the field look? Did you notice if the rain had destroyed the little mods I made or did they hold up?

There wasn’t any damage from wash outs that I noticed.

The rivers had a fair bit of standing water in them so their placement, direction and slope seemed to work well.

Looking at the forecast now and there’s rain Wednesday and Thursday but Friday, Saturday and Sunday look promising for some field work.

Just noticed the forecast has changed. Was supposed to be sunny on Wednesday and Thursday. Might come up on Friday to put the wheel on the barrow regardless. I'm running out of days until I go away

How about duct tape? As long as it gets the soil over to be screened and we can get rid off all the rocks it should suffice. I know we have had record rainfall but starting to think we might need to put gravel waterbars on the lower sides of the bricked and flagged roads as the water is just flowing over without any absorption now the roads are paved in lots of places and washing the good soil away leaving all the gravel. Now it's supposed to rain next Saturday and Sunday. Think we need more elevated driving areas rather than gullies on the field

Agreed, duct tape should work.

Looks like this Saturday and Sunday will surprise us with decent weather.  How about a work day and informal uncertified Battle Day?

What about that Flex tape that is advertised on TV?  I used a tube of that stuff to fix the bird bath.  So far so good.

Weather is supposed to be nicer on Friday but I have other stuff to do. Plus the soil is so gravelly it might be a bit easier to work with wet

I can go out to the field tomorrow as well; it may go faster with 2 sets of hands.

I will be out Saturday for a bit. Can't do much post surgery by Wan to run my new RAM tank around...

Can't upload images because the Servimg needs you to sign up but doesn't give any way of subscribing so just will report we completely finished the one townsite and adjoining hill and area. Also the mess in the airfield corner where the old river was has been cleaned out and now we need to figure out what is going to go on all that new space. Will set up the townsite again on Saturday to show how the buildings are placed. Should be able to completely finish off another large patch  of the field south of the river this weekend

Mitch I'm going to put the buildings out on the site first thing tomorrow if you could perhaps bring your camera. Just wanted everybody to get an idea of the layout. Actually now it has come back to normal so posted below. Why the images are always rotated 90 or 180 degrees is beyond me. There is no editing option to rotate them to normal either. This is the only site I have this problem any more
