CYBER POLICE WARNING

I don’t want to be an alarmist and this is an FYI so you don’t panic like I did.

Yesterday, while surfing, my pc was suddenly locked up by what seems a legitimate Cyber Police website. It locked my screen and mouse, turned on my camera, turned up my audio and threatened to encrypt my data if I attempted to disconnect.

It was very official looking including displaying my ISP’s name and my IP address.

They threatened to prosecute me for one of the following: surfing to a terrorist web site, committing internet money fraud, viewing child porn, etc. However if I paid a first offence fine of $100 my pc would only be kept on a list of first time offenders.

Now like many I surf freely with several expensive malware and virus programs in place, but this gave me a shock.

I immediately disconnected the modem and called my service provider to see if this was indeed a real cyber police action. They assured me it was something they had seen as a very nasty “REVETON “Trojan. Sometimes appearing to be RCMP, Interpol or FBI depending on where you live.

After a start up scan you will be surfing with a clean pc again , and for god sake don't pay . Evil or Very Mad

There is no agency in the world who wouldnt LOVE a look at my activities.. bwahaha Wink

Also there isn't one who can gain access... as far as I know...

....so many pirated movies! I SWEAR!

Nothing wrong with a little clean porn...but be aware there are bad people out there
