| I have given this some more thought, all of the following is open to discussion. If someone else wants to to event planing, that is fine with me Due to my proximity to the field (10 minute's drive) and experience with dealing with the Black Creek Community Centre, as a minumum, I am offering to look after; Communication with the Black Creek Community Centre, including collecting dues and turning them over to the Centre. Check the field, periodically.Field preparation prior to the Meets, but I would appreciate help with the grass cutting and weed whipping etc. from any of our members that are within a reasonable, short commute.Weather monitoring to call a "go, no-go" for the Meets (Ian and I did that last year, if he is up for it, we can continue with this).I can do more with regard to organization, but am just as happy to share responsibilites; my main concern is keeping this excellent outfit going (I like it too much and have too much invested in "toys" to not have it continue). People that live farther away can help with thing's that are less physically "hands on" or things like making "props", if they want. I think the main thing in taking on a role is to make sure the person has time to do it. I also think communication is key; such as in the case of field prep., asking for help, or keeping everyone informed on field and weather conditions. This forum is a good thing for doing this. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Due to my distance I can't help with the maintenance of the field, but would if I could. I can offer my services to help run the events. If I'm driving 8 hours, I'll be motivated to get people out on the field. I'm always coming up with new ways to play anyway. And I will continue work with Ian on any marketing we need and maintaining the forum. Oh ya, I'll also can bring the BBQ. _____________________________________________ HL Panzer III | HL Tiger | HL Jagdpanther | HL Panther | Mato Sherman Hooben Elefant | HL Pershing | HL Bergepanzer IV | Tamiya Leopard 1A | WSN T-34 HL "Golden" Pan-Tiger | M16 Halftrack | HL Panzer IV | Tamiya KV-1 | Tamiya Tiger

| You the man Glen and I will help where I can.
I think we need a load of dirt and a work day to redo the feild.
Lets get a price on dirt.(.clay?) and we can chip in and get it done, maybe in May?? _____________________________________________ The Great Pan-Tiger |

Lets get a price on dirt.(.clay?) and we can chip in and get it done, maybe in May?? I agree with Frank here, a pile of dirt is a great start for making the field more engaging, a 3d field! As far as physical work goes we can certainly concentrate on this. Tim mentioned he had a source is that still viable? everyone happy with the storage capacity, ie the trailer? I think it's adequate. _____________________________________________ Tiger I - Panzer II - Panzer III - Panzer IV - Chi Nu Kai - Panther G - KV-1b 756(r) M4A3(76) Sherman - T-34/85 - M3 Grant - SECRET PROJECT

| I can ask around about dirt supplies, there are a few items to consider and I suggest we plan what we want to achieve and how it will be done;
I expect it will be OK but I should run it by the Black Creek Centre, I can do that with an email. They may want to se a proposal, maybe not. I will find out.
We have to figure out how much dirt we would need (I can calculate that once we measure the area to be covered).
We will need to check what is available and at what cost. I have bought soil etc. for home use; clay is common here but the quality is poor, in scale it would be like driving tanks over 3 ft boulders. Better quality stuff you can spread will usually cost, the low cost stuff doesn't spread very well (as I have found out at home).
Since we can't spray products like Roundup i quantity, now, any soil/dirt etc. we put down will grow weeds and grass within a few months and still need to be cut, so I am assuming the goal is to improve the grade and drainage.
I don't mind working on the routine field maintenance regularly, since I live close by, but I don't want to do anything that will increase the routine maintenance since I have work, duties with the Sportsmans Club, my own 1 1/4 acres and minor back issues, so I would like any proposed features to take that into account.
I will check with the Black Creek Centre and some sol suppliers and report back. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Humm.. we can screen the clay/ soil to take out the ruff stuff and break it down , may take some time. I think the soil may choke out some of the grass and help build more hilly terrain.
Also as I have said befor if we stake down some tarps on the grass when it is HOT it will cook the grass and KILL it real good, in a vary short time, day or two. I have some old tarps.????
We should do the digging soon befor the ground drys out and gets hard and it gets too hot, may be a work day or half a work day and half a play day? Maybe hit the Mandarin for lunch or supper as a group after ?
Lets see what Black creek says and then go into action. _____________________________________________ The Great Pan-Tiger |

I hope to have that in a couple days.
I will post the info as soon as I receive it.
I they want someone to meet with, I can do that. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| Sounds good Glen, thanks for being on the ball as usual! Frank, I think it's worth trying out and definitely seems simple enough, as long as nothing catches on fire... RIGHT?? | How big are the tarps? If they work out, i would reduce grass cutting, which would help out.
Also, I think I will start checking the field, later this week, so we can make sure it is good to go on the 20th.
My lawn has not started to grow yet (only a couple miles away), it is relatively dry here for this time of year; but rain is in theis week's forecat. _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."

| I received a call from Mike Amadio, President of the BC Centre, tonight and he asked me to meet him so I was over at the field, tonight. They are cleaning up he area between the tank field and the barn. They will be grading the area with a bulldozer, this week; they will not touch our grass field. Mike says when they are done, we can have that area, too; this will allow us to expand the field a bit Mike is good with us bringing in soil and landscaping. I mentioned killing the grass, Mike did have a bit of concern over that because of the potential for kids making a mud hole of it when it was wet and no one was there, but agreed we could try it, _____________________________________________ "Luck favours the prepared!."
