PostSubject: Tamiya IR Receiver (Apple) Component Questions   Mon Aug 26, 2013 11:48 am

I was hoping someone could help me out with some questions on the Tamiya IR Receiver Base.

I would like to know the dimensions marked in on the attached, the diameter and the width across the lugs.

Also, does the larger piece underneath go inside the turret? (I know, I left the "r" out of larger Embarassed , must have been thinking about beer) Laughing

The larger piece looked too big to go in a coupala or commander's hatch.

i think that is for the tiger 1 turret but if you want to make your own mount you can remove it without it falling apart

Some of the bases are designed to be installed from UNDER the turret roof, and as far as I know the Tamiya kits have a spot they fit into.

Apple diameter is 1-1/8", and at the widest point of the lugs, 1-1/4" . I don't use that base, I use the white ones from Curtis / Clark.. sorry I cannot measure those.

I DO know that a regular Tamiya apple won't fit inside a HL Tiger, Panzer 3/4 hatch without some mods... :/
